Obama ratings still slipping

In addition to the Gallup tracking poll of Obama's approval rating on the sidebar, Rasmussen reports that Obama's ratings have been slipping. Since his election his approval had risen from 52% to as high as 69% on January 10th has since fallen back to 56%. Conversely his disapproval ratings in the same window had fallen from 44% to 28% and has climbed back up to 43%.

The chart below is from Rasmussen's site;

That definitely looks like a trend. The source, is not surprising.

Thirty-two percent (32%) now Strongly Disapprove of the President’s performance,
the highest level of disapproval measured to date. The rising negative is driven
by Republicans, 56% of whom Strongly Disapprove of Obama’s performance. Since
Inauguration Day, Republican opposition has doubled.

What is surprising - to me at least - is that so many Republicans had been sucked into believing things would be different under Obama.
