Planned vs. Actual

The midterm elections are at this point as important to conservatives, Republicans, president Trump and his supporters as was the 2016 election was. I had plans to blitz my blog with posts supporting candidates and expounding on the reasons why it is so important.

Unfortunately my life has gotten very busy of late and not allowed me to provide commentary even as much as was normal in previous years.  I am hopeful that prior to November I will be able to ramp up my efforts supporting America first, Constitutional conservatism (which are not mutually exclusive by the way).

Please bear with me as posts come in more slowly than normal for the time being.

Midterms Matter: For North Dakota Senate, please support Kevin Cramer

In a tight midterm race, North Dakota's current senate representation deserves a bit of scrutiny. Unfortunately it does not hold up well to that scrutiny.  There's been hypocrisy, self-serving decisions, and  self-serving politics.  That's not what any state needs.

You have a choice between that and someone who has always wanted to be accountable to the people he serves.
If you know me, you know I have always preferred persuasion over power, humility over hyperbole, and candor over the cowardice of not saying what you think. I have never forgotten where I came from and I have always remained accessible through my town halls and continued outreach, which helps me remain accountable to you - the people of North Dakota. I will bring that same level of commitment to transparency, accountability and accessibility with me to the Senate.

-- Kevin Cramer
The choice seems simple and every vote counts when the race is this close.  Kevin Cramer needs your support.

Please support his efforts; volunteer, donate or at least check out his positions on his website.  And by all means - vote.

Midterms Matter: For Montana Senate please support Matt Rosendale

Matt Rosendale is hoping to provide a fresh face in Washington to represent Montana.  He's looking to replace lobbyist-driven, bureaucracy-defending, double-dealing senate representation for the state.  He's looking to replace it with common sense, responsible and smart leadership.
In 2014, Matt was elected by his Montana colleagues in the State Senate as the Majority Leader. In February of 2016, Matt announced his candidacy to be Montana’s State Auditor. Despite being outspent 4:1, Matt won by nearly 8 points.

As State Auditor, Matt cut his office operating costs by 23% and when Montana’s budget was in crisis last year, he refused a pay increase when every other elected state official – Republican and Democrat – took one. Matt’s also working to lower the cost of health care and prescription drug prices and provide more affordable health care options to Montanans.
The contrast is clear.  Do your research - your current senator takes you for granted and is all about the money.  That's not leadership anyone needs.

Please support his efforts; volunteer, donate or at least check out his positions on his website. And by all means - vote.

Midterms Matter: For Florida Senate please support Rick Scott

Rick Scott has tirelessly served Florida as governor.  He is seeking to represent Florida in the U.S. Senate, standing for an accountable, fiscally responsible and responsive government.  The race is tight with his political opponent who is a fear-mongering, tired and aging, do-nothing Democrat who is banking on voter apathy and disinterest to propel him over the top.

Contrast that with the energy and goal-driven vision of Rick Scott:
Governor Scott knows firsthand that a good paying job is one of the most important things for a family, and following Florida’s economic collapse ten years ago, he made the decision to run for governor as a businessman with no political experience. Since being elected, Governor Scott has successfully championed more than $10 billion in tax cuts and reduced more than 5,200 burdensome regulations, allowing Florida businesses to create nearly 1.5 million new jobs and helping the unemployment rate drop to one of the historic lows, even lower than the national unemployment level. Under Governor Scott’s watch, historic investments have been made into our education system, transportation infrastructure, and the environment – all while paying $9 billion in state debt. He has also helped navigate Florida through some of the state’s most challenging times in recent history, including Hurricanes Hermine, Matthew, and Irma, as the state reached a 46-year crime low and maintained record tourism. As governor, Scott has fought tirelessly for Florida families and job creators, and now, he is working to bring that fight to D.C. to secure Florida’s success for generations to come.

Midterms Matter: For Arizona Senate, please support Martha McSally

Martha McSally was the first woman to fly a fighter jet on a combat mission. She won a Bronze Star and 6 medals for her service to America.  She represents Arizona in Congress and is looking to gain your support for a seat in the Senate. This is a close but important race; her opponent is an extremist (so far left, she won't even support Chuck Schumer), a classless opportunist, and has a history of not caring from where her support might come.

Martha McSally on the other hand already has a record of accomplishment on common sense deliverables.
Some of Martha accomplishments during her three years in office include:

  • Authoring and passing 18 bills in three years.

  • Fighting for and funding the A-10 Warthog — the world’s best plane to provide Close Air Support to American troops. It is also a primary mission of Davis-Monthan Air -Base, which employs thousands of airmen and pumps millions into Southern Arizona’s economy. Martha flew the A-10 in combat in the Air Force. -

  • Authoring legislation signed by the President that restored the rights for WWII female pilots to have their ashes in Arlington National Cemetery.

  • Authoring legislation signed by the President to fast track veterans for jobs at our border to fill critical vacancies.

  • Spearheading solutions to secure the southwest border.
You can have that, or you can have this:

Her opponent is an extremist masquerading as a moderate.  Don't be fooled. Martha McSally is the smart choice.

Please support her efforts; volunteer, donate or at least check out her positions on her website.  And by all means - vote.

Thank you.

Midterms Matter: For Tennessee Senate, please support Marsha Blackburn

Marsha Blackburn is a common sense fiscal conservative.  She's running against a rich, elitist  Establishment Democrat who is for higher taxes and more government spending, untrustworthy, and like they all seemingly are - corrupt.

Marsha meanwhile, understands what the role of leadership is supposed to be:
Marsha believes the United States Senate is broken. She is running to be our next Senator from Tennessee to straighten up the mess in Washington and remind the Senate that it serves you. It is time for the Senate to fulfill its promises to the people of Tennessee and pass the President’s agenda.

In the Senate, Marsha will:
  • Fight to bring significant tax relief to hard-working Tennesseans;
  • Fight to cut wasteful spending;
  •  Fight for our veterans to keep our promises to those who have defended our freedoms;
  • And fight to secure our borders and ensure existing immigration laws are followed.
Marsha is a conservative with a record of accomplishment. She gets things done, and in the Senate, she will fight for Tennessee families every day.
Please support her efforts; volunteer, donate or at least check out her positions on her website. And by all means - vote.  At this point the race is close, and every vote matters.

Thank you.

UPDATE: Post Kavanaugh confirmation Marsha Blackburn has jumped out to an 8 point lead, but this is no time to become complacent, that's what leads to losing.  Please remember to vote for her come November.

Midterms Matter: For Missouri Senate, please support Josh Hawley

Josh Hawley is a Constitutional conservative running against a wealthy, disconnected, and corrupt  Establishment Democrat.  He is in a tight race and he deserves honest consideration.  This quote from his campaign website shows that he is about people and not politics:
Now Josh is fighting the big opioid manufacturers, taking on their unethical marketing practices that have helped create an epidemic of opioid abuse. He has cracked down on human trafficking in Missouri, leading the largest anti-trafficking bust in Missouri history. And he is investigating the most powerful company in the world—Google—to ensure the safety of Missourians’ private information.
Please support his efforts; volunteer, donate or at least check out his positions on his website.  And by all means - vote.

Thank you.
