Marsha Blackburn = Good, Phil Bredesen = untrustworthy

It's a busy day for me so I thought I would just share some news and views from others today and get back to the regular schedule tomorrow.

Previously I urged Tennessee voters to support Marsha Blackburn. Her opponent I argued was untrustworthy.  Project Veritas last week backed up my claim with this,

and then this.

Sneaky, establishment liberal.  Case closed.

Midterms Matter: For Tennessee Senate, please support Marsha Blackburn

Marsha Blackburn is a common sense fiscal conservative.  She's running against a rich, elitist  Establishment Democrat who is for higher taxes and more government spending, untrustworthy, and like they all seemingly are - corrupt.

Marsha meanwhile, understands what the role of leadership is supposed to be:
Marsha believes the United States Senate is broken. She is running to be our next Senator from Tennessee to straighten up the mess in Washington and remind the Senate that it serves you. It is time for the Senate to fulfill its promises to the people of Tennessee and pass the President’s agenda.

In the Senate, Marsha will:
  • Fight to bring significant tax relief to hard-working Tennesseans;
  • Fight to cut wasteful spending;
  •  Fight for our veterans to keep our promises to those who have defended our freedoms;
  • And fight to secure our borders and ensure existing immigration laws are followed.
Marsha is a conservative with a record of accomplishment. She gets things done, and in the Senate, she will fight for Tennessee families every day.
Please support her efforts; volunteer, donate or at least check out her positions on her website. And by all means - vote.  At this point the race is close, and every vote matters.

Thank you.

UPDATE: Post Kavanaugh confirmation Marsha Blackburn has jumped out to an 8 point lead, but this is no time to become complacent, that's what leads to losing.  Please remember to vote for her come November.

On Fred Thompson's passing

Former actor, U.S. Senator (Tennessee) and presidential candidate Fred Thompson passed away today. He was 73.  He was impressive as a Senator and an actor.  He might have made a good president but his candidacy ran out of steam.  I've always liked his films and I recall seeing him in Senate videos on C-SPAN (I think that's where I saw him).  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.  He will be missed.

Super Tuesday Winners Ahead of Time

Not exciting.
I'm not all that excited about Super Tuesday because it could turn out to be the Romney show and guarantee his nomination.  I still believe he is the antithetical candidate for a Republican win against Obama in November.  Rich, out of touch and stiff, he'll be easy fodder for the Democrats to portray as a cardboard candidate without real values and without empathy.  He'll be demonized in the ceter, the same place Obama is trying to shore up his own credibility.  He's very, very vulnerable in November, and a Super Tuesday win for Romney is more likely than Santorum or Gingrich to seal the fate of the GOP chances of losing the presidency in 2012.

That is not an exciting prospect.  Super Tuesday has me as uninspired as a David Hasselhoff made for TV movie. It's not something I want to see, but because of all the hype, it's going to be on a bunch of channels.  Who knows, maybe the Germans will be excited about it.

All that said, here's how I see tomorrow playing out.
