I've been swamped with work this year.  I've been posting far too infrequently for my liking.  I'll try to play a little bit of catch up today (as I have a little breathing room) by focusing on some of the bigger issues I have missed with some short to-the-point posts.

Dearth of real news, dearth of posts

 I have to admit I've been focused on the presidential election since August.  But I have not said much since election night.  A lot of podcasts, many alternative news outlets and and many blogs have pointed out that the election results have not been certified, and there is no president-elect.

Conversely the mainstream media (including former stalwart of reasonableness Fox News) have declared the election over.  They've declared Biden the winner. Incorrectly to this point.  There is no winner officially declared.

But I have said little.  That's because there is not much that matters until these court cases in the swing states get resolved.  I'm sure there was a lot of cheating going on - ballot harvesting, voter coaching, secret tallying in the middle of the night to name a few instances. But I have only re-shared the works of others.  The reason is the outcome of the lawsuits is the next thing that matters. The decisions that come out of those will dictate whether the president has a chance to overturn some of the suspect results.  They will also likely indicate the plausibility of states' results changing.

The courts are what matters. So for now, I'm waiting, because anything I say now, much like CNN, does not matter to the outcome.

Planned vs. Actual

The midterm elections are at this point as important to conservatives, Republicans, president Trump and his supporters as was the 2016 election was. I had plans to blitz my blog with posts supporting candidates and expounding on the reasons why it is so important.

Unfortunately my life has gotten very busy of late and not allowed me to provide commentary even as much as was normal in previous years.  I am hopeful that prior to November I will be able to ramp up my efforts supporting America first, Constitutional conservatism (which are not mutually exclusive by the way).

Please bear with me as posts come in more slowly than normal for the time being.

5000 posts later...

Back in November 2008 I first took to blogging about politics here on Nonsensible Shoes.  This is my 5000th post.  In the intervening 8+ years, I've gotten over 1.4 million page views (wow!).  I never imagined that I'd still be blogging this much later, especially if someone had told me that for all of the effort, I'd have made less than $500 in that time.

Seems futile when you put it in that light.  But that's not the primary point of this blog. 

The purpose of this blog is to espouse common sense conservatism and to be part of the pushback against liberalism in it's current form - hateful, deceitful and economically and socially ineffective.  I'd hoped to be part of a deluge of conservatism against the deluge of angry, bitter liberal tripe.  Unfortunately in the time since I started the blog we've gone from BushHitler to Kathy Griffin beheading president Trump.  In other words, on the left, nothing has changed.  Perhaps collectively conservative writers/bloggers have changed some minds.  We should regard those as wins. But the left is just as bitter, as deceitful and as dangerous to liberty as ever they were.

That does not make blogs like this failures.  It makes us as important as ever in standing up to progressive liberalism in order to do everything we can possibly do to ensure a progressive dystopia does not envelop America, which I regard as the last great hope for humanity.

4000 posts

This is it, post #4000 on this blog. Wow. That seems like a lot. Does that make me a loud mouth, blow hard, know-it-all? Nah. I'll just keep on going.

Also exciting for me - a couple of months back, I passed 1 million page views. If it were a record, I'd have gone platinum.  I've also made over $200 from this blog in just under 7 years. So...there's that.

No posts this week

I've started a new job this week and haven't been able to post.  Regular posting should return on the weekend.  I hope.  Because there is a lot I hadn't finished and a bunch of new Obama bungling that I need to catch up on commenting on.
