And...cut, print. Stinkulus.

Well, it's done. The Stinkulus Bill is going to the Commander In Chief for signature into the law of the land. There's $787 Billion you'll never see again.

Obama goes on TV, and Gallup and Rasmussen see a 7% bump in support for this horrible, horrible, horrible bill. By the way, even Gallup only had it slightly above 50%. But it was enough to emboldened the Democrats (read a bill, me? NAH!) into passing the damn thing. By the way I've been calling it stinkulus instead of porkulus. That's because there's more than just pork in this thing that stinks. Anyway, done deal. Sign it, Mr. President. He's not going to suddenly be struck by a sense of fiscal sanity so it's over. On to the next fight for the GOP.

And on that subject, Collins, Snowe, Specter; what do you suppose the GOP's version of Siberia might be?

For the rest of us, the conservative populace, this is no time to be licking our wounds. It's no surprise this thing passed. And it's a good thing that the party was pretty much intact in opposition to it. Cut loose the deadwood and gird for the next battle, be it fighting the Fairness Doctrine, or potentially filibustering a Ginsburg replacement if she has to retire from the Supreme Court over her cancer, or whatever else the next issue might be.

Really, this passage could be a blessing in disguise for the GOP. It takes time for the money to get spent. And it won't show results as promised. So it could very well end up a thorn in the side of Democrats come 2010. So let's not worry about what we can't control and think about what we can still do. True, it's not much, but we have to work with what we've got.

And for the record, I don't believe that should include the Turncoat 3. There's no benefit in keeping them in the party. They won't filibuster just because the party dictates it. So cast them out, cut them off, and start fishing for replacements. Maybe the pressure will cause them to try to earn their way back in. Or maybe not. But good riddance to bad news.
