Celebrities capture candidates qualities succinctly

Not like this.

Celebrities can be pretty vacuous, but there actually a number of them who have supported and do support conservative candidates, sometimes quite surprisingly.  What's more surprising is that sometimes left or right, they nail it in describing the candidates.  

Now, I'm not talking Alec Baldwin or Sean Penn here.  Sure, they get the most attention because of their outlandish opinions, but they aren't the ones who are capturing the essence of the candidates.  

Here are a few examples.

Actor Chuck Norris on Newt Gingrich;

We agree with our friend and governor of the great state of Texas, Rick Perry, when he suspended his campaign and endorsed Gingrich, that Newt “has the heart of a conservative reformer.” We believe Newt’s experience, leadership, knowledge, wisdom, faith and even humility to learn from his failures [personal and public] can return America to her glory days. And he is the best man left on the battlefield who is able to outwit, outplay and outlast Obama and his campaign machine.

David Mustaine, lead singer of Megadeath is supporting Rick Santorum, but here's his succinct quote on Ron Paul that encapsulates the candidate in a single sentence;

Weighing in on the rest of the field, Mustaine...said Ron Paul will “make total sense for a while, and then he'll say something so way out that it negates everything else.”

Here's his thoughts on Rick Santorum;

Earlier in the election, I was completely oblivious as to who Rick Santorum was, but when the dude went home to be with his daughter when she was sick, that was very commendable

I haven't heard any celebrity quotes on Romney.  The liberal ones seem to be biting their tongues other than perhaps the incomprehensible ramble of Robert Redford at the Sundance Film Festival.  Frankly, it's not all that interesting anyway.

And Barack Obama?  Samuel Jackson sums up the rationale for his support;

“I voted for Barack because he was black,” the actor said candidly to Ebony magazine. “That’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them. That’s American politics, pure and simple. [Obama's] message didn’t mean sh*t to me.”

Likewise Samuel, his message hasn't meant that to the economic recovery either.  Just letting you know.
