Obama to Russia; 'Let me tell you about British security'

From the Telegraph, WikiLeaks is reporting that the U.S. is apparently giving the Russians, as part of an arms control deal President Obama is expected to sign next week, information about Britain's nuclear capabilities;
A series of classified messages sent to Washington by US negotiators show how information on Britain’s nuclear capability was crucial to securing Russia’s support for the “New START” deal.

Although the treaty was not supposed to have any impact on Britain, the leaked cables show that Russia used the talks to demand more information about the UK’s Trident missiles, which are manufactured and maintained in the US.
The British had asked the information NOT be shared;
Washington lobbied London in 2009 for permission to supply Moscow with detailed data about the performance of UK missiles. The UK refused, but the US agreed to hand over the serial numbers of Trident missiles it transfers to Britain.
Friends before adversaries. Did somebody forget that?

A number of Republicans in the Senate have expressed concern at the ratification of the START treaty, when it had passed last December. It passed nonetheless, but now it looks like those with concerns were even more right than they may have known at the time. As for Republicans who voted to ratify the treaty, here's a list (emphasis added).
Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Robert Bennett (Utah), Scott Brown (Mass.), Thad Cochran (Miss.), Susan Collins (Maine), Bob Corker (Tenn.), Judd Gregg (N.H.) Johnny Isakson (Ga.), Mike Johanns (Neb.), Richard Lugar (Ind.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska.), Olympia Snowe (Maine.), and George Voinovich (Ohio).
Obviously, there are some concerns with those names and some who are not so surprising.  The Tea Party clearly still has a lot of work to do.

  1. If this is proven top be true, the U.S. is done as a perceived world leader! If this President has in fact done what is charged in the leaked cables, he must be impeached immediately! As Pat asked above. Were the people in the Senate notified as required of this action? If so, why did the Senate vote to allow this to happen? Or is it possible this is another "we didn't read the entire thing" moment? If in fact the leaders of the Senate did in fact have knowledge of this action then they to should be brought up on charges!

    Again, this is alleged but something I feel is in line with the actions of this Marxist we now have in the White House. Very scary!

  2. I'm not sure which senators read or didn't read it but either way, it IS scary. Either they didn't read the treaty, or they did and they didn't care or didn't notice. Those are all bad scenarios.
