Two Word Opinions - April 2014

I`m busy and with limited internet connectivity today, so just some quick thoughts on the topics of the day.  Very quick.  Two words.

Lois Lerner is  is facing charges of contempt regarding the IRS targeting of Tea Party Groups.  Meanwhile she's apparently looking to get a job with Democrat PAC Organizing for Action. - Not Over.

The crisis is the Ukraine isn't over, unless you happen to be part of the Obama administration or the mainstream media. - Face palm.

Stabbing spree by a student this morning n Pennsylvania didn't involve guns. - Bearing arms?

Obama is still pushing a gender gap agenda ahead of the 2014 midterm elections. - Pure politics.

The GOP is urging the White House to slow down on transferring control of the internet to countries around the world. - About time.

Dictator Watch - March 2013

It's been a long time since three's been a Dictator Watch post on Nonsensible Shoes and a lot has happened on that front since the last one.  Too much in fact, since time restrictions require that I combine the Dictator Watch with the Two word opinion format.

Hugo Chavez - Dead. Definite zombie.

Kim Jong Un - Insane and preparing for an offensive war against America. Not happening.

Mahmud Ahmedinejad - insane and proving it.  See above.

Vladimir Putin - investing in Syria just because he can. Prevent defense.

Two Word Opinions - 2013 first edition

No, two REAL words.

I've been busy in my personal life to an extent that it has unfortunately disrupted regular blogging for the time being.  It doesn't mean I'm not following the news and politics or that Nonsensible Shoes is going to fade away.  But lacking time, for now I'm going to revert to some more two word opinions as a means of catching up a bit.

Ron Paul made some pretty damn insensitive remarks about the death of a Navy Seal sniper - Really dumb.

Iran might just be aligning with the newly 'democratic', Islamic Brotherhood controlled Egypt - Conservatives knew.

Post Office is shutting down Saturdays - More please.

Immigration reform on the table again with the secret ingredient being amnesty sauce - Not robust.

The GOP is getting the idea that outreach to minority voting blocks is important - not...really.

CBO claims the US will add $7 trillion in national debt over the next decade - THAT'S conservative.

Some more two word opinions

Two cents in two words.

I've been busy at work preparing for my upcoming vacation, and some other exciting personal stuff, so posting this week has been lagging.  But it's never too late for some quick two word opinions.

The Congress has voted, for the 33rd time to repeal some (or in this case for the second time, all) of Obamacare.  Keep going.

Victor Davis Hanson suggest Mitt Romney needs to get specific on his plans for taking the country forward. Too early.

Mitt Romney got booed during a speech for the NAACP when he talked about repealing Obamacare. Outreach, rebuffed.

President Obama claims that Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez is no threat to the United States.  Kidding, right?

The next 'big' liberal anti-banking scandal story to break will be over Britain's interest-rate fixing scandal. Not really.

Senate Democrats killed president Obama's plan to expire the tax cuts for those who have incomes in excess of $250,000 per year.  Planned distancing.

Gallup has reported that Americans' confidence television news has reached an all-time low. Well, DUH!

What does it all mean?

I'm going to be busy today, so here's some more quick opinions on subjects that I'd mostly want to spend more time on, but for now, I'm just getting on record with something.  Call it a place holder.  In other cases, two words is more time than a subject needs and you can consider it a dismissal of the topic as irrelevant.  I'll leave it to you to decide which you believe is which.

I'm not really back from an unintended break in posting.  August has been an unusually busy month for me at work.  Consequently, my  posting frequency has suffered.  That's unfortunate because going into the dog days of August when there will be little new to discuss, my free time might just be normalizing.  That will mean I'll have to write more analytical essays, which might not be so bad since it's my preference anyway. In the meantime, anti-essays will be the order of the day since I only have 10 minutes to get this post done. 

Since brevity is the soul of wit, I give you more two word opinions.  The truth is that each of these today could still be reduced to a single word, so I'm not being as brief as possible..  I'll leave it to you to figure out for yourself  how to shorten these.

I'm falling behind on posting again.  In order to do a quick catch up, here are some quick two word opinions on some recent headlines.  On a side note, this is 500% harder than doing it in three words.

Two Word Opinions: Not surprised

I've been falling behind on posting the last few days because of a busy schedule.  But I'm still here.  In the spirit though of being rushed and having little time to post, here are some more two word opinions on some current media fodder.  Longer posts hopefully will return soon.  As for deeper thoughts - sometimes two words carry a lot of meaning, and sometimes though shallow, go as deep as you need to go.

Two Word (or less) Opinions Again

When I'm busy with my day job I'm relegated to quick posts.  Nothing is much quicker than two word opinions.  While that can be shallow, it can also distill ideas into black and white, good versus bad, yes or no simplicity.  If that's all that ever came about, two word opinions would be bad.  As a starting point for further discussions later on, they make a good headline on a position.

I'm trying to work on a couple of longer posts right now.  Between those and being busy in my day job, posting has been a little slower than I like.  There's a bunch of things to post on that would be great to discuss if I had the time.  However, with the limited time available let me instead rattle off a bunch of  dismissive two word opinions about some topics that may (or may not) deserve longer than I've allocated.  Two words typically don't do a topic justice and are obviously oversimplified.  But they can be fun.
