USA is beating China in the trade war
What president Trump is doing is a long overdue China reset. America has been in a fever dream, gutting it's middle and working class and building up China's. Remember, China is a communist country of 1.3 (ish) billion people. America has not just allowed them to become an economic superpower, they enabled it. They facilitated it. If the path the global economy was on had not been intercepted, America's decline would become inevitable, and China's rise to preeminent superpower would also be.
Remember the Chines Communist Party are belligerent, aggressive and evil actors with a facade of fair minded global players. What president Trump has done was 100% necessary. So how is it working?

Justin Trudeau: even more wrong than we thought
Canada's liberal government, led by communist-China-admirer Justin Trudeau is sending Canadian taxpayer money to a bank run by the Chinese Communist Party. It's so stupid it has to have been purposefully done. It turns out the green agenda is probably more important than both national security and taxpayers' money.

Is the Pope a communist
According to Javier Milei, incoming president of Argentina, thinks it's so. He thinks the Pope is a communist. He makes a good case. I've always thought the current Pope was a socialist (communist-lite), but that's just splitting hairs. Here Milei talks to Tucker Carlson about the Pope and communism and socialism in general.

Chipping away at the foundation
If I were a communist I would want to take down the economy of the most powerful free market economy in the world, the United States. And in an adversarial role, you cannot simply go head to head economically with an economic superpower. You have to chip away at the edges. You have to make the United States spend money on things it shouldn't have to spend on so that you can level the playing field. That means you go for the edges, like creating a need to build a border wall (not that the need for one was created by communists), or better still, you chip away at the foundation.
I've always said that without a robust economy you cannot do anything else (military, social security, education) and without those you have nothing - it's all about the economy. I still believe that. But a robust economy has to be founded on something. Yes there's a need for an abundance of land, labor and capital. But some countries have those things and still flounder (Russia). Why is that? I think it's because there is another ingredient required. More foundational than an economy is a system that enables that economy, one founded on common sense, which is founded on values, which is founded on irrefutable principles.
So a communist in order to subvert American principles of life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and honorable behavior such as the Golden Rule, which in turn is deeply rooted in Christianity), you have to chip away at those, not the economy directly. You remove the family and replace it with welfare and the education state. You remove liberty and replace it with security (i.e. government protections). You remove incentive and replace it with handouts. You remove the pride in country and replace it with shame and then divide people into warring factions full of vitriol and hatred for each other. And of course you remove common sense and replace it with digestible, repeatable propaganda. You use emotion instead of logic, but logic would halt your sabotage in its tracks.
In case you haven't noticed, all of this and more has been happening in America for decades. It accelerated dramatically under president Obama. And while the people tried to pause it with president Trump it only abated slightly, the vitriol and hatred on one side even got dramatically worse. Under Let's Go Brandon (I see the irony of that being vitriolic) it has resumed apace.
The infectious poison of communism established roots in America that long outlasted its source, the Soviet Union. America, that truly by now could be a bastion of hope and opportunity, is in decay. People have slowed it for a time here and there but not vanquished or rooted out the source of the problem, which spread from places like university intelligentsia to every corner of the country.
This is the point we are at. People are awakening to it, but whether it is in sufficient numbers to stem the tide of failure and havoc this will wreak is not yet clear. 2024 will be very telling.

Justin Trudeau more wrong than wrong
I have lived in Canada (unfortunately) my entire life. I have never seen such an incompetent and wrong-headed leader as Justin Trudeau; he is more wrong than wrong. Mind you I have seen some truly idiotic leaders, including his supposedly intellectual father Pierre Trudeau, but Justin Trudeau is the most unsound, stupid, leader Canada has had in my lifetime. Not only is he wrong, he admires communist China, so he's morally bankrupt as well.

Cuomo Commuted Communist Terror Convict
I didn't use the insult in my last post, but Cuomo proved he is even more of a scumbag on the way out. I am not in favor of ad hominem attacks, but if ever there was someone deserving of name-calling, this is the guy. he commuted the sentence of a communist terrorist.

The miraculous quality of China’s achievements makes what is happening in the country today especially tragic—and alarming. Under the guise of fighting corruption, President Xi Jinping is methodically dismantling virtually every one of the reforms that made China’s spectacular growth possible over the last four decades. In the place of a flawed but highly successful system, he is erecting a colossal cult of personality focused on him alone, concentrating more power in his hands than has any Chinese leader since Mao Zedong. In the short term, Xi’s efforts may make China seem less corrupt and more stable. But by destroying many of the mechanisms that made the Chinese miracle possible, Xi risks reversing those gains and turning China into just another police state (think a gigantic, more open version of North Korea): inefficient, ineffective, brittle, and bellicose. And that should worry not just China’s 1.4 billion citizens but the rest of us as well.
- 1971 -The U.N. United Nations recognized the People’s Republic of China, giving it the permanent Security Council seat formerly held by Chiang Kai-shek’s Republic of China on Taiwan (since 1945).
- 1972 - Richard Nixon visited China to improve relations, trying to leverage the rising nation to help offset the Soviet Union in Asia.
- 1979 - Jimmy Carter granted China full diplomatic recognition, acknowledged mainland China's One China principle and severed normal ties with Taiwan.
- 1984 - Ronald Reagan, while supporting the Taiwanese morally, agreed to sell weapons to China, following the Nixonian premise of countering Soviet Russia.
- 1989 - George H.W. Bush witnesses the Chinese Tiananmen Square massacre and suspends sales of weapons to China but takes no further action.
- 1993 - Bill Clinton launched a policy of “constructive engagement” with China.
- 2000 - Bill Clinton commited one of the most egregious errors in China policy by granting China permanent, normal trade relations with the United States and setting the stage for China to join the WTO (World Trade Organization) the following year.
- 2005 - George W. Bush recognized China as an emerging power and in the post 9/11 world, tried to leverage China to use its influence with rogue nations such as North Korea, Iran and Sudan into the international system.
- 2012- Barack Obama faced with China's unfair and often unlawful trade practices (including currency manipulation, intellectual property theft and destructive laws towards foreign companies who want to operate in China, it's protective moves towards rare earth metals) complained to the WTO but does nothing else.
- 2014 - Barack Obama in the face of Chinese hacking into U.S. government and business computers, had indictments against Chinese government hackers, but did nothing else, allowing China's communist government to continue hacking, despite the indictments. That same year, Obama signed a climate agreement with China, an agreement China was in no hurry to implement on their side.
- 2015 - Barack Obama did nothing when China started construction of islands in the South China Sea, clearly intended for military use in the disputed waters.
- 2017 - Donald Trump reaffirmed the nation's One China policy after flirting with recognizing Taiwan once again.

China's failed lesson learned
SHANGHAI, Dec 26 (Reuters) - China's financial hub of Shanghai will limit its population to 25 million people by 2035 as part of a quest to manage "big city disease", the cabinet has said. The State Council said on its website late on Monday the goal to control the size of the city was part of Shanghai's masterplan for 2017-2035, which the government body had approved."By 2035, the resident population in Shanghai will be controlled at around 25 million and the total amount of land made available for construction will not exceed 3,200 square kilometres," it said.

Hong Kong flummoxed by Kangaroo Court
Activists accused Beijing of crippling Hong Kong's parliament Friday after four pro-democracy lawmakers were disqualified.More than 1,000 people protested near the government offices Friday night in response to the decision. The High Court judgement came as a massive blow for the democracy movement as it means the balance of power in the partially elected legislature swings further to the pro-China camp because opponents do not have enough seats to veto bills.Former Umbrella Movement protest leader Nathan Law was among those barred in a case brought by the semi-autonomous city's Beijing-friendly government after the four changed their oaths of office to reflect frustrations with Chinese authorities.Law was one of several rebel lawmakers to secure a foothold in parliament at citywide elections in September. But that triumph was soon jeopardised [sic] after Beijing issued a special interpretation of Hong Kong's mini-constitution in November to insist oaths be taken in a "sincere and solemn" manner.
