Since when has logic mattered?

Critics are baffled by Mamdani’s victory message to Trump? What about being baffled by his win? Since when has logic mattered in blue states? You know, back in around 2009 when I was blogging that the Democrat party was on the road to socialism and eventually communism, I didn't think it would come to a major party so soon. I figured the country would come to it's senses. In large part it did, it just didn't come to Democrats I guess.

 

Cory Booker angling for 2028 presidential run

Cory Booker is a very left leaning Democrat. He also seems to be an establishment-acceptable guy. And he's also a grandstander. By refusing to endorse a communist mayoral candidate for New York City, he's clearly angling for a 2028 presidential run.  Why is not clear; while the race is supposedly wide open, if Gavin Newsome runs the fix will be in for him.  And regardless, Corey Booker is highly likely to  Kamala Harris  (Munson) his own candidacy anyway.

NYC: It's not going well

Just yesterday Tim Pool discussed NY city's communist Democrat nominee for mayor. So far, it's not going well.

Eric Adams and the politics of Democratic destruction

I'm no fan of Eric Adams, but the prosecution of the New York City mayor seemed awfully political. Now it seems even more plausible:

NYC police quitting in record numbers

In light of the illegal immigrant cost crisis which I alluded to in my previous post, New York City has started cutting police funding. This, in order to help cover costs for illegal immigrants who are shrewdly being transferred there by Texas to share the load (i.e. experience the pain their liberal policies have been inflicting on others). NYC has responded to the cost issue not by demanding border control but by cutting police costs.  The unintended consequence (or perhaps deliberately intended "defund the police") is police quitting.

New York liberals are now getting pretty much what they want - open borders and somewhat defunded police.  And now, it's having an impact they don't like. Poor babies.

Sweden - Herd Immunity is in sight

In Sweden, they are not shutting down.  With a population half of New York City, they have a death toll that is 1/10th of NYC.  Herd immunity is a risk, but it is working for Sweden.

This approach is not a panacea but could easily work in a lot of places in the U.S.
