JD Vance is going to be the next president

My thinking is that he's the obvious next GOP nominee and the Democrats are so far from being able to put together an sensible and effective platform it might not matter who their nominee is.  My gut says it will be Gavin Newsom, and despite his smarminess and clear California failures, he is an effective speaker. That said if JD Vance is prepared, I think he can both debate and charm Newsom of the debate stage.  Here's another take:

Margaret Brennan can officially be labelled an idiot. Censorship leads to fascism and now so does free speech. And it also led to the Holocaust. Idiot. Idiot. Idiot,  Sorry for the ad hominem attacks but this is hard to frame any other way.

You have probably already heard that Pete Hegseth has been confirmed as Secretary of Defense. You probably have heard that JD Vance had to cast the deciding vote after the senate was tied 50-50. But did you know Mitch McConnell voted against Pete Hegseth? Why?

What 2025 may bring

At Breitbart, a look towards 2025 and some of the real, and tough issues facing the incoming Trump administration:

President Trump will not have an easy time controlling inflation, a problem that has historically only been solved with economic pain. Securing the border will also be an extremely difficult task, not to mention the question of what to do with millions of people who have entered the country illegally in the past several years.

There may be opportunities for peacemaking in the Middle East, but there will also be new challenges: the Syrian rebels who ousted the Assad regime, for example, include hard-core Islamic terrorists who are already threatening Christians and other minority groups in the region. Russia and Ukraine are still at war, and China is still a growing threat — not just in the western Pacific, but elsewhere.

More broadly, we have long-term problems — the debt, the declining birthrate, the epidemic of loneliness — that will require sensitive approaches. We have elected a president who prides himself on being a disruptive force; the challenge of rebuilding will be our own.

Inflation is indeed going to be a tough one to tackle. The money printing that has happened over the last 4 years make it especially tough to overcome quickly. But the energy policy and the immigration fixes (especially deportation) will definitely have a faster impact than fixing monetary and fiscal policy. That will help for sure. 

While wars are a big problem, I have less concern about Trump's ability to broker deals and I think he will make relatively quick work of solving those issues.

With respect to the long term issues mentioned in the article, those are things that will take longer than a single presidential term.  JD Vance will need to step up in 2028.

A return to the golden age

You can make it happen America; vote Trump/Vance and vote Republican in 2024. Don't skip out on it.

This settles it

The mainstream media gloms on to anything, ANYTHING, they think will harm Trump's chances. JD Vance emphatically puts an end to it as far as the offensive joke by comparing it to the vile Democrats' "Trump is Hitler" argument.

We're done here.  Moving on.

3 on 1 and Vance still won the debate handily

The moderators were not moderating the debate they were supporting panicky Tim Walz and still JD Vance was able to kick butt in the debate.  It was brilliant.  When polling comes in I'm sure it will be a win for Vance.  I'm equally sure, though it won't be polled, Vance pointing this out further chipped away at the abysmal levels of trust for the mainstream media.

Unfortunately, I'm also sure this debate will do little to move the polling, as VP debates have only a small impact.  I would caveat that a little here; it might mean more than normal, but just not a lot more.

I'm shocked that the fairest debate this election cycle was conducted by CNN (not really). Debate moderators have become useless given that they are all so left-biased now. 

How about the questions are pre-packaged and displayed on a screen to the participants and microphones are automated to turn on and off at set times? No people involved whatsoever. Questions can come from sources proposed by candidates and accepted by their opponents. For example Vance could request 10 questions come from Fox and Walz could request 10 from CBS. The questions would be asked alternately between both sources.  Just a thought.

What a border czar should be doing

When border czar Kamala Harris won't debate, won't do her job as border czar, JD Vance stepped in and met with people who are on the ground facing the daily grind of dangerous, illegal drugs coming into the country.

Let's see how this goes.

Donald Trump has chosen his VP: 

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Former President Donald Trump chose Sen. JD Vance of Ohio as his running mate on Monday, picking a onetime critic who became a loyal ally and is now the first millennial to join a major-party ticket at a time of deep concern about the advanced age of America’s political leaders.

“After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social network as the Republican National Convention got underway in Milwaukee.

A solid choice, not my first choice but a solid choice nonetheless.

JD Vance is running for Senate in Ohio.  I've heard him on the Patriot channel on Sirius XM satellite radio, I've seen him in Breitbart clips.  He seems like a solid America first conservative.  Check the link for his website.  Or here for his Twitter.  He's worth checking out, especially if you are in Ohio.
