Sunday Not Funnies: United States of Obamastan

This might have been funnier to the select few not in Obama's thrall back in 2009, but I was on Big Government yesterday morning being disturbed by this image, while simultaneously enjoying the wit of both Jason Bradley and Stephen Marche concerning Obama-worship. There are still those it turns out, who deify The One.

While I'm sure they are loath to elevate Captain O to a religious level (they aren't religious after all), I can still envision their O-topian future in the United States of Obamastan (en route to the new name of the Democratic People's Republic of Obama).

Civil Discourse for Thee, But Not for Me.

And some Democrat double take to go with the Obama double take.  Let's see...Bush = Hitler,  Christie = Gaddafi ,  Walker  = Mubarak,  Conservatives can STFU and violence is okay if it supports Hamas (or the SEIU).  But conservatives are the crazed radicals? Conservatives are the ones not using civil discourse? Civil discourse for thee but not for me indeed.

We all know Democrats are full of double standards and hypocrisy.  But while they get away with it less and less, it doesn't stop them from trying.

Don't Sweat Obamacare - Get Exemptions

Don't sweat Obamacare. Those who were most vocal in backing it seem to have found the solution: opt out. Get an exemption and you don't need to worry. More and more exemptions have been granted and the interesting part is who is on that list.

Last year, we learned that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had granted 111 waivers to protect a lucky few from the onerous regulations of the new national health care overhaul. That number quickly and quietly climbed to 222, and last week we learned that the number of Obamacare privileged escapes has skyrocketed to 733.

Among the fortunate is a who’s who list of unions, businesses and even several cities and four states (Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio and Tennessee) but none of the friends of Barack feature as prominently as the Service Employees International Union (SEIU)...

The question remains: If Obamacare is such a great law, why does the White House keep protecting its best friends from it?
The problem is, this solution is only a temporary reprieve. What makes this the case is that the exemptions and the non-exemptions are all about insurance and not medical care. People talk about nationalized health care as if it's a takeover of the doctors and hospitals. It's not - it's a takeover of the insurance industry as a first step on the march towards single payer coverage. At that point, the government becomes a monopoly and would indeed dictate to the medical industry as well what is and isn't allowed.

Those who pushed for this have set themselves up to be the next in line to be dictated as to what coverage medical care they can receive. An exemption today is not going to be worth the paper it is written on in a few years time if Obamacare isn't rolled back.

Reminder: You are a mob.

This is what they think of you.  You are a right wing extremist mob. A mob at the behest of the GOP.

They think you are a mindless minion and do not have any legitimate concern for the country because after all, the country is doing just fine. Meanwhile, they are just community activists.

Don't be an enabler and vote for anyone beholden to groups like these unions. You are not a mob. You are a person like many others, concerned about the dire consequences of power hungry government and bloated bureaucracy. That's all.

SEIU vs Bank of America: Cooler Heads Needed

Cooler heads should prevail on this one.  Hot Air, (apparently as well as Big Journalism and Fox News' Nina Easton) all are covering the story about SEIU thugs protesting outside the home of a Bank of America executive. What transpired resulted in no arrests but it certainly violated standards for decent behavior.  Whatever happened to common decency? It wasn't on display here.

Real Libs of Genius + Um, who?

An amusing video from Secular Stupidest, purveyors of fine quality political bumper stickers.  The video looks at real libs of genius.  But it raised one question for me.
