Gotcha video works in reverse

 Via Bill Whittle,

Republican Congressman caught on hidden camera video makes the stunning confession that he'd like to do what Trump-backing Republicans have been saying publicly for a long time. Anti-Trump PAC founder Scott Dworkin retweets it in an attempt to "make it go viral". At this writing, it has 375 views.

Why?  Because in the undercover video exposé, conservative Congressional Representative David Schweikert (R-AZ6) who is a member of the Congressional Freedom Caucus, said privately exactly what he says publicly.  No scandal, only him telling the truth about his public opinion being truthful.  How that is scandalous is a mystery.

This will end up entrenching voters in Arizona who support David Schweikert and upsetting voters who already despise him. That's a gotcha fail.

Kayleigh McEnany exhibits pure brilliance in 90 seconds

A reporter tried to have a "Gotcha" moment with White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Wednesday. Except her response was pure brilliance. It was a mic drop moment that shamed the mainstream media in what is possibly the perfect sound byte. The assembled press should have walked out of there with their tails between their legs.

The Johnson Takedown Strategy

With Libertarian candidate stumbling on Aleppo in an interview a while back, and the polling evidence that his support is pulling voters more from Hillary Clinton than from Donald Trump, it was only a matter of time before the liberal media piled on tried to suck all of his support away from him as quickly as possible.  With Clinton having, at a minimum pre-debate, having lost momentum, it's become necessary to find her a path to victory.

Trump did not tank at the debate, even if the perception is that Hillary might have won the debate, she did not sink Trump.  Trump did not sink Trump either. So the Gary Johnson thing might really matter.

It's no coincidence that a progressive liberal (socialist) leaning network like MSNBC is trying to give Gary Johnson some rope to hang himself by having him on.  Bernie Sanders supporters are generally younger and certainly feeling the sting of being treated as outsiders after the scandalous DNC attempts to ensure a Clinton victory in the Democratic primaries.  And Libertarian candidates like Johnson have tended to have more success among the same demographic than older ones - at least when it comes to attracting new voters.

So the MSNBC strategy is targeting correctly - get those voters who you can possibly peel away from Johnson and get him to slip up again. Clearly Johnson is an isolationist and another slip up on foreign policy was/is bordering on inevitable.

Whether it just turns them off from voting this cycle entirely rather than turning them to Clinton is another matter.  But you won't convince me that this was not a deliberate vote grabbing attempt by MSNBC.

Liberal Gotcha Politics

[And I'm back from camping...tanned, with a significant number of mosquito bites and a smell of campfire about me].

The New York Times has a story today about the future Sarah Palin emails of every potential GOP candidate and the planned spin on the gaffes. Sickening, but it's their only hope.  President Obama's gaffes will be well documented (though not reported).  They are planning on fighting gaffes with gaffes.
