Was the FBI involved?????

Until recently I was not familiar with Oversight Project.  They have done some investigative work on the Trump shooter that the FBI either hasn't (and won't) or at a minimum hasn't shared (and won't). I'm not saying this is all correct, but it does make you question how much truth we are being told about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump (I strongly urge you to scroll through the chain of self-replies for the full story):

How long do we have to avoid reality before we stop being labelled as conspiracy theorists?  These are legitimate questions being asked and summarily dismissed.

Addendum: They have put a deep state operative in charge of the investigation of the assassination attempt. Janet Napolitano has been a political appointee by both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, and now the Let's Go Brandon Kamala Harris White house. So everything should be fine, nothing to see here folks. Great.

The coup is real

Let's Go Brandon on X (Twitter), only 20 hours ago:

The Democrats' coup is real.  This is only phase 1.

Demo-coup incoming?

Democrats are going to try to get their nominee off the ticket for the nomination for the presidential election in 2024. The party of "But Democracy!", is about anything but democracy:

For the record, I don't think he'll leave willingly.

Peter Zeihan's take on the Russian non-coup

I think there's a confluence of things happening that are shaping Russian opposition to the war in Ukraine, or perhaps more accurately, eroding confidence in Putin's leadership.  A deep fake Putin TV broadcast is one such example; even though it was stopped and discredited quickly, the fact that it could happen in mother Russia has to have some people thinking about the ramifications of it happening in the first place.

Another example is the non-coup. How does this impact Russian thinking about the war? Certainly not in a patriotic way.  Peter Zeihan opines on the implications of the non-coup.

The coup accomplished nothing, as far as the Wagner Group is concerned but as part of a broader picture, it may be an important signal of coming events that do not bode well for Russia.

If this is right, it's over

Wow. Just wow. I've followed politics since 1976 (granted, I was only 10) and I have never seen anything like this election, not ever.  If this report from Fox News is accurate, the election is over - Hillary Clinton can't win without a coup d'etat.

Quick linkaround along with some thoughts.

Just a few links today, because there were a couple of topics I wanted to comment on briefly.

Did Erdogan stage his own coup d'etat in Turkey?  He's clamped down like a Saddam Hussein might do.  That doesn't mean he's not just using a coup as an excuse, but he's not really all that pro-West so in the end it doesn't matter.

The Nice, France truck terrorist was indirectly ISIS enabled. Again, it doesn't matter how he was radicalized (by himself, or via clerics or via trips to ISIS strongholds).  What matters is that he was radicalized and it hasn't stopped.  Obama and Clinton have done a terrible job since Obama's apology tour in embracing their enemies, apologizing and even denying there's a problem.  Things have only gotten worse since 2009.  I'm no big fan of Bush but remember how relatively safe things were between 2001 and 2008 compared to now?

Along those lines of security doves chickens, remember the Russian reset that Hillary flubbed during the meeting?  Well she flubbed the details too. Since the Russian invasion of Crimea, they continue to be aggressive in the Ukrainian nation.  It's gotten so bad even Obama had to defer to NATO condemnation of Russian action. Thanks Hillary for that reset.  Great insights, smooth move.

In a similar vein, Hillary's slump in the polls is real. It's not just the one poll.  There's a trend.  And if you look at the battleground states, it's happening in some of the key races. Going into the convention weeks, Trump needs to maintain his non-momentum by ensuring that he does not interfere at all with Hillary's downward momentum and trajectory.  Stand aside and let her continue to crumble.  I'm not sure Trump is capable of staying out of the headlines for a couple of reasons (1. the media 2. Trump).  But if he can, this might be the best time to do it.  Then again, it's convention week.  That's not a time to not toot your own horn.  Maybe he can concentrate on a positive message.  It would provide a great contrast with 'dishonest Hillary'.

Turkish coup in progress

Armed Forces in Turkey claim they have taken control of the country. This is not necessarily a bad thing for the West, Turkey had drifted away from democracy and towards a more Islamist style rule recently. And of course with a war on it's southern border raging in Syria, a recent bombing at Ataturk airport and even the attack yesterday in Nice France, Turkey has been in a tense situation for a while.
According to Turkish media, the military statement said the army had taken action to: "reinstall the constitutional order, democracy, human rights and freedoms, to ensure that the rule of law once again reigns in the country, for the law and order to be reinstated."

The military statement went on to say that "all international agreements and commitments will remain. We pledge that good relations with all world countries will continue."

The statement came shortly after prime minister Binali Yildirim confirmed that a faction of the military had engaged in what appeared to be an attempted coup.

He called for calm, saying security forces are doing what is necessary to resolve the situation.

Mr Yildirim warned that those responsible for this "illegal attempt " will pay the "highest price."
Turkey is a strategic geo-political country. Erdogan was not a healthy leader for that country.  If the coup turns out to be successful, I would not be inclined to shed a tear.

Obama foreign policy gaffes are well known...in Egypt

Remember what I said about Egyptians helping out Obama and Clinton (inadvertently), making their failed Middle East "policy" look better with this second revolution against Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood?  That would not be the case if people in America were to see the real news out of Egypt.  Doug Ross @ Journal has a great compilation of pictures you won't see in the mainstream media that certainly should be the final nail in the coffin of Obama foreign policy.

Here's a sample but there are many more compiled by Doug Ross.

Egyptian Spring 2.0

It looks as if the drift towards an Islamic Brotherhood run state in Egypt has been stalled by Egyptian citizens with a nod to the military.  The Egyptians may have saved the White House from yet another embarrassment in it's call for Mubarak to step down during the previous iteration of the Arab Spring in Egypt.  Despite the bungling of the whole Middle East situation by both Obama and Clinton (et. al.), Egypt may yet come out of this a democracy and less hostile to the West than peviously.

Then again, it could turn ugly.
