The #WarOnFreedom - your freedom - continues, with the Democrat National Committee curbing free speech - they don't like Fox News so Fox News can't cover their primary debates, even though Fox News stood up for Jim Acosta when president Trump's team barred him from White House coverage.  Not surprisingly the mainstream media lined up behind the DNC.

Maybe Fox News will learn from this that they will never get a fair shake from the rest of the media, even though they have drifted slowly leftward over the years.

Hot Air's Ed Morrissey is reporting that Hillary Clinton is establishing a shadow DNC (Democratic National Committee) to compete against...the DNC:

Old and busted: Buying the DNC. New hotness: Competing against it. NBC News reports that former aides of Hillary Clinton have launched a new super-PAC that looks an awful lot like a campaign. Party Majority, NBC reports, will “act as a parallel structure to Democratic party committees at the national and state levels,” while remaining in the hands of “Clinton world,” as Jonathan Allen characterizes it later...

Eventually, Democrats would have figured this out anyway. The question remaining is why Party Majority and “Clinton world” wants to do this in parallel with the party rather than within the DNC itself, as Priebus did, which would increase its durability. The obvious answer to that would be control, and in the context of Hillary’s former grip on the DNC, it’s also probably the correct answer, too. “Clinton world” wants to act as kingmaker in the 2020 cycle, or perhaps operate as a platform to give Hillary a third shot at the White House by again locking out any competition early by monopolizing GOTV resources and cash.

As Ed notes, it's not like the DNC, which is currently busy shaking off the Clinton stranglehold, is going to stand by and just let this happen. They're bound to push back.

Instead of working together, which is not the Clinton style, this is probably going to turn into a street fight. The DNC vs. Party Majority could last right down to election day 2020, with the Democrats forwarding a candidate and Hillary Clinton running as an independent, both siphoning votes from each other and ensuring a president Trump second term. There's down ballot implications as well.

That's not the only possible outcome. There could be an eventual coming together, provided Hillary re-establishes her stranglehold on the DNC. That would also bode well for president Trump as she has proven to be a stiff, unfriendly, shrill and generally unlikable and unwinnable candidate. Other possibilities will present themselves along the way, but the thought of a knockdown drag out fight between Clinton and Biden bloodying each other prior to the general election is just too rich not to want it to happen.

Are these the death throes of the Democrat elite?

Donna Brazile, who previously denied any wrong-doing in the Hillary Clinton rigging of the DNC primaries and control of the party, is now abandoning the sinking ship.  As Hillary Clinton continues to assign blame everywhere else but herself, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Clintons infected the Democratic Party from within and it can be said that they were trying to do the same with democracy, as Breitbart points out.

Just as Hollywood seems to be imploding with scandal, now that the first domino has fallen on the Democratic elite, expect more to begin to come out.

Democrats Terminated?

Yesterday I was writing about how three stories showed how the liberal media was empowering president Trump to further victories, the day before, Brandon J. Weichert had a piece that took the view that the Democrats are facing permanent doom one step further;

Truth is, notwithstanding the “days of rage” the Left has been living out since Trump’s election, it’s been clear that the Democratic Party’s leadership grasped it could not maintain its high dudgeon for another two years (especially not with 25 Democrat-controlled Senate seats up for grabs in the 2018 midterms). After nearly four months of protests, public vitriol, and personal attacks directed against Republicans, the Democratic leadership has chosen a run-of-the-mill Democrat to lead them.

Perez is no moderate. He is a conventional liberal. So, while it is unlikely that one will get a Scoop Jackson-type of Democrat to moderate the influences of the manic Leftist base, one can expect a more programmatic, less populist version of Leftism on display. The Democrats are shaping up to nominate a Joe Biden-type in 2020 (possibly with Elizabeth Warren as the running mate, in order to satisfy the base).

But, barring some catastrophic event in the Trump presidency, this tactic will not work. Elements of the Left recognize that populism has taken hold in the country. However, they cannot bring themselves to understand that the explosion of populism is far more likely to benefit the Right than the Left.

He's not wrong and as a conservative, I'd say it's definitely a feel-good read. He argues that the Democrats in large have not understood the populism shift (in a larger view, the need to fix a system that has stopped working properly). He argues that they are left without labor (whom Trump has co-opted) and by selecting an insider they've cast aside their new core of socialists and are left with nothing. He may be right as far as 2018 and 2020 are concerned. To whom do Democrats have appeal left? Racial groups? Women? That didn't work in 2016.

But it's too easy to suggest that Democrats are done forever, especially because of a DNC leadership selection. While the new leader matters directionally, and it indicates that Democrats are sticking with the insider party elite, it doesn't follow, ipso facto to permanent minority status for Democrats. Five years ago people were saying that about Republicans but like Terminators, we knew that wasn't going to be the case. Insider elites can raise a lot of money. And while it didn't work for Hillary Clinton, that doesn't mean it can't ever work again. Money is still power, but it requires a voice that resonates. Someday Democrats will have that again. I hope it takes decades. In fact a successful Trump presidency means it could take many decades just like the FDR new deal is still the paradigm that governs government. I like what Brandon J. Weichert has to say. I just am skeptical. A decade in the wilderness will do that to you.

Please let her win!

DNC Chair candidate Sally Boynton Brown really needs counselling, not a job as the chair of the Democratic National Committee.  Nevertheless, let her win.  This cross-eyed view of society embedded in Democratic politics will ensure ongoing GOP wins during whatever her future tenure in the DNC role turns out to be, should she win. Please DNC, let her win.  Pull a Debbie Wasserman Schultz for her.

PHILADELPHIA — Sen. Bernie Sanders sent a text message to the leaders of his delegation pleading with them not to protest on the Democratic convention floor Monday night.

“I ask you as a personal courtesy to me to not engage in any kind of protest on the floor,” he wrote in the text message to his delegate whips. “Its of utmost importance you explain this to your delegations.”

He signed the text, “Bernie.”

Many of his delegates did not heed his warning, as some Sanders supporters interrupted the convention’s opening prayer with chants of “Bernie!” DNC Chair Rep. Marcia Fudge reprimanded the delegates for interrupting her opening remarks when she said she was “excited” to help elect Hillary Clinton and Sen. Tim Kaine. “Excuse me!” she pleaded, as Sanders delegates interrupted her with boos and chants of “Bernie.”

She may have reached her tipping point.  We can only hope at this moment.

WikiLeaks: DNC did indeed conspire to defeat Bernie Sanders

On Friday, WikiLeaks released,

...a bombshell cache of DNC emails obtained by Russian hackers. Among other things, the documents purport to show the party apparatus favoring Clinton's campaign over the insurgency of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. The DNC did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment.

The news took center stage on social media, threatening to upend the Democrats' messaging and steal attention from a chaotic and divided Republican National Convention, which wrapped up on Thursday night. The email exchanges may reopen the wounds of a bitter Democratic primary season, just as the party kicks off its own national conference designed to highlight a unified, energized party.

Surprisingly so far the response from Team Sanders seems, underwhelming;

Bernie Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said his team was "disappointed" by the emails from the Democratic National Committee leaked through WikiLeaks, which seemed to reveal staff in the party working to support Hillary Clinton.

"Someone does have to be held accountable," Weaver said during an interview with ABC News. "We spent 48 hours of public attention worrying about who in the [Donald] Trump campaign was going to be held responsible for the fact that some lines of Mrs. Obama's speech were taken by Mrs. Trump. Someone in the DNC needs to be held at least as accountable as the Trump campaign."

Team Trump at least, took it for what it was - an affront to a democratic process. Via Twitter:

This should not only overshadow the Tim Kaine pick as VP, it should open the eyes of Sanders supporters as far as the DNC's impartiality is concerned. They should rightly up in arms over it, as should Sanders himself.

Thursday Hillary Bash - What Guccifer 2.0 reveals

Collusion on an epic scale.

Via Inquisitr, what the latest hack of Democratic National Committee's email server reveals about Hillary Clinton and her enablers is just as abhorrent as you'd expect. It's practically Nixonian in nature if this were Watergate, Hillary would already be on her way to jail.

A new hacker who identifies himself as Guccifer 2.0 has revealed confidential documents that point to collusion efforts between Hillary Clinton, the DNC, and the mainstream media. The documents the hacker released contain more than just the multi-pronged approach to derailing Donald Trump. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has already acknowledged that a hacker accessed its servers.

MSNBC has released a story about the hack, but as noted above, it only pertains to information about Donald Trump. The media outlet made only a passing reference to the other documents Guccifer 2.0 released, claiming “much of the information was already available publicly.”

...So, what exactly do the documents released thus far reveal? At the very least, they reveal a coordinated effort between the DNC, Hillary Clinton, and the mainstream media to make play up Clinton’s positive’s while downplaying her negatives. It also reveals that the DNC has fed the mainstream media information and questions about Republican candidates that news anchors and reporters should ask during interviews.

In a document dated May 26, 2015 — a little over a month after Clinton announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination — the DNC issued a document specifically aimed at discrediting GOP candidates by working hand-in-hand with the mainstream media.

Expect a massive level of avoidance of this in the coming months by all the perpetrators involved. But this issue needs to have a 1000 Megawatt light shine on it, because it's indicative of everything that's wrong with insider politics that is choking the democracy out of America.

I wonder if the DNC is paying minimum wage.

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission requesting that it investigate the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for having “knowingly hired” an illegal alien, Cindy Nava, to help craft the committee’s 2016 political message and communications. Judicial Watch filed its complaint on August 25, 2015.

A June 8, 2015, story in The Washington Post reported that the DNC hired Nava with full knowledge of what DNC chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) termed Nava’s “undocumented status.” The news report details that “Despite not yet attaining legal status, Nava is working for the Democratic National Committee as one of a crop of fellows from around the country helping the party organize ahead of a presidential election that President Obama predicted would feature immigration as a major issue.” The Spanish language newspaper El Nuevo Herald reports that Nava would help coordinate DNC outreach to “women, youth, and Hispanics.”

Federal law prohibits foreign nationals from participating “directly or indirectly in the decision-making process” of federal, state, or local election-related activities.

The Democrats seem to be convinced that Mitt Romney is going to be the GOP nominee. That is evidenced by the fact that David Axlerod and the DNC both have started targeting Mitt. If they are targeting him they must believe he's going to win.

That's a very plausible supposition on their part - Mitt Romney is a front runner in many states, he's well funded and he's well organized. He still fares best among GOP candidates in polls against President Obama. Further, his detractors have split their support among a few candidates. If the GOP primaries become a war of attrition, or simply longevity, he's got to be a favorite.
