What do all of these have in common?

What do all of these have in common?

Nazi Germany.
Soviet Russia.
Communist China.
Mussolini's Italy.
Ancient Rome.
Napoleonic France.
Imperial Japan under Hirohito.
OWS.

They were all occupiers.

Makes you proud, doesn't it?

Seriously though, there's a point to be made here.  In the past one of the things I've pointed out is that liberals have managed for decades to out-do conservatives in the key area of communication.  In 2003 they were obsessed with calling the war in Iraq an 'occupation'.  Why?  The negative connotation subtly influences public perception and they want to do exactly that - at all times.  Conservatives need to get better at taking the language back from the liberal media.

Liberals have gone from America 'occupying' Iraq to themselves wanting to occupy Wall Street.  2003 occupation bad, 2011 occupation good.
