It's not all bad news from the left

An Obama-appointed judge rejected Democrats’ efforts to block DOGE data access:

Good news

I haven't posted since Sunday, it's been an extremely busy week for me for a number of reasons, and it continues to be the case. In the interim, here's a good news projection for the 2022 election cycle from Red Eagle Politics.

The downside of the story is that thanks to some poor redistricting in some states, and some regional entrenchment, there is an upper boundary to how many seats the GOP can pick up in congress and the senate.  It doesn't matter if a GOP candidate in a liberal district loses 51-49 instead of 71-29.  A loss is a loss.  Speaking of which, state redistricting in Republican states was not as aggressive as it should have been.  So here's some free advice for state and local Republicans -  when you win, act like winners!! The Democrats have no compunction about doing so and that's why you are always ceding ground, not taking ground in the Overton window battle. Oh and conservative voters; you have to be more involved.  Get involved in the primaries and elect conservatives not RINOs. Just my two cents.

On other damper on the good tidings; this is January not November.  There's lots of time for things to change, for the better or worse.

Good news / bad new from the Fed

A few days ago, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said the Federal Reserve is not expecting a U.S. recession:

The news you don't hear:

  • no looming recession
  • job market growing faster than available workers
  • strong market for consumer
  • moderate growth
Here's the bad news for president Trump and for borrowers, it sure sounds like rate cuts are not going continue. They will probably remain stable for the rest of the year, barring

NPVIC - stupid idea gets a setback

The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) took a hit last week.  The idea is that if enough states that possessed 270 electoral votes combined signed on to the NPVIC they would all agree to cast their electoral college votes for president to the winner of the national popular vote rather than whoever won the popular vote within their own state.

The idea is just plain stupid.  The idea behind the formation of the United States was that they were an alliance of states with similar interests, aligned for common defense etc.  States' rights and ability to individually determine what is best for their own interests is paramount.  To subvert the will of the people of New Mexico to the will of the people in Florida, Texas, New York, Illinois and California is potential counter to the self interest of the state.  What if those states (with a very significant percentage of the electoral college at 171 votes combined) and a few key others all supported a presidential candidate who backed the idea of using New Mexico as the national toxic waste dump? And what if that candidate won, despite citizens of New Mexico voters voting 97%-3% against the candidate? The state would still transfer their electoral college votes to that candidate.

You see the problem.

Good news though.  After the Nevada state senate signed onto the compact, the governor wisely vetoed the bill.  Tim Pool argues that this is self defeating for the Democrats.  The bigger problem, the real problem is that it is counter to the intention of the Constitution.

An unending string of good news for America.

Thank you president Trump:

-Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. JOBS for pretty much anyone who wants one.
-Despite the tax cuts RECORD income tax revenue.

How anyone goes to vote in the 2018 midterms, and doesn't vote for Republicans to further enable the president's agenda that has America winning again, is beyond me. That is, unless they truly hate America.

Oops - CBS finds out Trump tax cuts are, er, cuts

This is kinda schadenfreude-y but a good watch because it's good news for president Trump and the Republicans in congress.  I don't think CBS was expecting the result they got. The relatively disinterested or low information public are bound to follow suit.

Good news: Boeing still works

787 Flight Deck
Here's some good news in the midst of the economic doom and gloom, and it comes from one of the companies the progressivist administration is trying to hinder.  Boeing has it's first 787 Dreamliner client-ready. These planes should turn out to be game-changers.  Instead of Superjumbo A380s from Airbus which are merely prestige planes, the smaller 787 Dreamliner is economically very practical and opens up aviation to smarter distance flights on a much more economic scale.  In hard times economically globally, seemingly everywhere but China, an American company has a product built with the foresight suited to the economic foresight and with the future potential scarcity of fuel in mind. It's a potential game changer.

It's a Good News Day for the GOP

Rasmussen Reports has a number of good news items today - the generic Congressional ballot of likely voters has the GOP up 10 points, and the Obama approval index is at -20.  But the good news doesn't stop there.
