Al Bundy and Why Global Warming Is Clearly Not Real

This show could not be put on the air today because it's too offensive.  Or rather there are too many overly sensitive snowflakes around today.  And with this many snowflakes, global warming cannot be real.

A question for globalists before we are all in thrall to China

I'm still free to ask at this point in 2021. America is still just barely, a free country. So I have just one question that I need to ask.   If you can offer me an explanation, I'm willing to at least listen.  If you are a globalist, a Democrat, a global warming fanatic, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, mainstream media or anyone else who is against the idea of America First, please answer this question:

WHY?

Why is it so vital that we shut down American enterprise from small business all the way to but excluding the tech giants, and move all of the jobs that support that off shore to China ( a bigger polluter, a totalitarian state, a deceitful and voracious government bent on capturing all the world's resources and wealth)? Why are you gladly locking down businesses but allowing Black Lives Matter the same freedoms you are trying to deny Christian churches?

Is it to prevent global warming? Is it the cheap labor, even cheaper than illegal immigrants? Is it your hatred for the capitalist system that has removed hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and provided individual liberty where no other system has? Is it to indefinitely propagate a war machine for profit? Is it something else?

And as a corollary what justifies your fanatical devotion to this idea?  Are you already enslaved to China and at this point doing their bidding, wittingly or unwittingly? Are you so rabidly anti-individual that liberty seems like a terrible idea to you? Are you so racist that you believe America was founded and prospered as a racist nation that it must be destroyed? Have you not seen how inclusive America is compared to nations like China and many, many others?

Or have you simply sold your soul for wealth or personal gain of some sort and you truly do not care what you are tearing down so long as you get yours?  That's not capitalism, it's avarice.  Avarice is not a capitalist trait, it's an immoral trait that exists outside of politics and is present worldwide. So it's not something you can fairly pin on capitalism.

Is it a desire to destroy a nation that so desires liberty it has subverted the spiritual leanings of it's own majority to the defense of other religions, it's own standards to the inclusiveness of minorities? No other nation has allowed itself and it's raison d'etre to be so perverted in the name of furthering justice. It's done so at the cost of it's core principles sadly.  No other nation would do so, but you seem so triggered to abolish everything that has given you the freedom to believe as you do, that you must have a great reason.  A fantastic reason.

So just let those of us who face an existential threat of joblessness, hunger, thought police and even death from your seemingly voracious need, know:

It's been the coldest, and wettest October to May on record.  On record!  Global warming is not happening.  Climate change as a crisis, is a hoax.

THIS is Global Warming. No joke.

Explanations are at the ready for the recent cold, one scientist going so far as to say that global warming (a.k.a. climate change) will only be delayed by a possible mini-ice-age.  For real.

While this is a micro-level weather event, in a global warming scenario predicted by the likes of Al Gore, this is pretty much impossible:

A long-lived Arctic cold outbreak will remain entrenched across the Plains, Midwest, South and East through the first week of 2018, shattering more daily records and sending wind chills to dangerously cold levels.

The latest batch of Arctic air to arrive in the Lower 48 is gripping parts of the Midwest and East for New Year's weekend. This will be followed by another reinforcing shot of bitterly cold air during the latter half of the week ahead.

It's interesting that embedded within the findings of the mini-ice-age is the notion that no matter what the impact of human activity on global warming the sun always trumps us.

Global Warming is Pseudoscience

Professor Ivar Giaever, the 1973 Nobel Prizewinner for Physics trashes the global warming/climate change/extreme weather pseudoscientific clap-trap and tells Obama he is "Dead Wrong". This was the 2012 meeting of Nobel Laureates.

Global Warming Reminder - still not happening

The liberal long game on climate change

You might assume that the long game on climate change by the elite on the left is to get people invested in Carbon Trading schemes which is nothing more than a tax.  In other words the goal is to get people to become emotionally invested in the issue to the point that they voluntarily want to pay taxes to fight it.  It will keep money flowing to the government unchallenged and that supports big government and therefore the progressivist liberal cause.

That's all true, but there's an even longer game likely at play.

After all, the oceans are not going to swamp Florida - at least not in our lifetime because climate change really is beyond any meaningful human influence.  No matter what humans do for example, we could not facilitate an ice age.  So too is the case for global warming.  It happens or doesn't for reasons that are beyond our control.

Liberals - not the ones swallowing the phoney panic as gospel, the ones causing it - realize they cannot have global warming as an issue forever.  So what's the long game when the earth enters a cooling cycle and evidence runs strongly contrary to their memes?  It's simple - they will argue that their efforts successfully stopped climate change.  That's the long game: government saved you, government works.  If that ever comes to pass America, and likely the whole world at that point, is doomed to socialism.   This is why it needs to be stopped during Trump's presidency; Republicans, perennial capitulators rather than legislators, will cave if the issue continues to surge during the Trump presidency.

Quote of the week

I'm going to go ahead and give the Quote of the Week to Robert Tracinski at The Federalist, even though the week has basically just started.

NPR, for example, accused Pruitt of questioning “basic facts about climate change.” But the problem with global warming alarmists getting on their science high horse is that they don’t really know the science all that well, or how to talk about it.

For example, NPR goes on to say: “The view that CO2 is a major heat-trapping gas is supported by reams of data, including data collected by government agencies such as NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.” Er, which data would that be? Carbon dioxide is certainly known to be a greenhouse gas, but nobody needed NASA or NOAA to tell them that. (More on this in a moment.) Presumably NPR thinks there is data which shows that carbon dioxide is primarily responsible for recent increases in global temperatures. But “data” can’t show that. Any assertion of cause and effect in a complex system like the climate, where there are hundreds of competing variables, is someone’s interpretation of the data.

So true.  The progressive left  take a fact, skip over any links and leap straight to a conclusion - the conclusion they want.  By glossing over the middle part they hope you'll be dazzled by the conclusion and just agree with their wizardry.

I urge you to read the entire article.  It's a sobering read for those imbued with the gospel of Global Warming alarmism and for the rest of us, a smart argument to echo.

What if global warming met critical thinking?

It is apparently turning into a "What If" kind of day here at Nonsensible Shoes.

When someone tells you the debate is over you should see a red flag.  If they have then winning argument, and they know it, they would be open to debate you any time anywhere because they know they will win the debate, and prove that your counter arguments are weak and will fail.  When someone tells you the time for debate is over it is because they don't want to debate because they either do not have the inclination to bother debating you (which sounds an awful lot like fascism; do it my way or else!) or they cannot win and do not want to be found out.

But the global warming crowd insists the debate is over.  They insist 'scientists' all agree.   How do you you know the debate is over?  Where you there?  Did you see the final global warming debate on CNN and the rest of us missed it? No.  Do you know with certitude that all scientists (or even most) agree?  Have you seen a list of scientists around the world, their relevant credentials and their 'vote' on the validity of anthropomorphic global warming? No. 

So why are you assuming that the liberal media are being honest? Are you that naive?  To accept everything that the media, including the news media and Hollywood, tells you is truth is naive at best and self-defeating at worst. You set yourself up for a life in an Orwellian dystopia with such an attitude.  You serve yourself better by questioning everything.  Of course that means with a critical thinking skepticism.  Obviously there is truth in every person, including the media.  But there are also lies in every person and there is also bias in every person.  Bias is universal. And so too it seems, is confirmation bias, which the media counts on their repetition of the global warming mantra for sustaining public belief.  That's what is keeping you from rational thought on global warming.

Let me pose a few what-ifs for you.

What if you asked a sports announcer who was going to win the next Superbowl, and the guy you asked just got 8 of 14 games right in last weeks regular season game predicitions.  He's 57% accurate about the immediate future and you are asking him to predict much farther into the future. So why is it that people who cannot get the weather correct more than say 3-5 days into the future have such supposed certitude of what weather is going to be like in 100 years?

What if you knew that the earth has been through stages of global Ice Ages and near-global tropical conditions for millions of years, that predate humans and that such enormous changes are cyclical and on a scale that far exceeds human capacity to impact our earth?  What if you knew our average global temperature are at or near multi-epochal lows? Go ahead, look it up.   You'll be surprised by some of what you find. 

What if you questioned the 'conventional wisdom' of global warming?  What if you did research into both points of view to find the strengths and weaknesses of the arguments? If you were right, you'd be better equipped to argue with both global warming skeptics like myself (how do you think I ended up here?).  And if you were wrong, what then? Would you have to stop hanging out with your friends?  Would life be over? Or would you be forced to question everything you thought you believed? Or maybe just some of it? There's no harm in engaging in the exercise of real research - unless you are just afraid of what you might find.

CO2 emissions reduction should be a non-starter. So says NASA.

World leaders are in Paris to discuss climate change, and global warming.  They're hell-bent on doing something about Carbon Dioxide emissions, because that's  what they believe (or would have you believe) is going to save the taxes.

Not so fast, says...NASA?Really?

This conference should just push pause for now. As Al Gore would say, the debate is over. "Science" has spoken.

Dr. David Schimel from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory found in a recent study that, contrary to popular ignorance, carbon dioxide isn't necessarily destroying the planet as we've all been told. Any carbon surpluses resulting from natural warming or cooling cycles are actually helping improve biodiversity in many of the world's most remote ecosystems, including in the great rainforests of South America.

Food for thought. 

Did Bernie Sanders really just blame ISIS terrorism on global warming?

 Yes, yes he did. And this guy wants to be president.

But he gets a lot more wrong than just that.

“In fact, climate change is directly related to the growth of terrorism,” said Sanders.

“And if we do not get our act together and listen to what the scientists say, you’re going to see counties all over the world…they’re going to be struggling over limited amounts of water, limited amounts of land to grow their crops, and you’re going to see all kinds of international conflict.”

Sanders said at the second Democratic debate in Iowa that climate change poses the biggest threat to America’s national security and to security of the world.

Sanders also argued that the growth of national terrorism and instability in the Middle East was caused by the invasion of Iraq.

“I would argue that the disastrous invasion of Iraq, something that I strongly opposed, has unraveled the region completely and led to the rise of Al Qaeda and to ISIS,” Sanders said.

Okay, I know you're old Bernie, but do you not recall that 9/11 and the World Trade Center bombing when Clinton was president and the attack on the U.S.S. Cole, etc. all happened before the invasion of Iraq? And don't blame it on the first invasion because countless nations took part in that one, including many Arab nations.

How can someone be that old and still be so sophomoric?

But let me not gloss over the specious global warming link. He's saying that global warming is causing food and water shortages and the unrest that has led to the rise of these terrorist organizations is resulting from lack of food and water. This includes the oil rich countries of Saudi Arabia (for example) where much of this jihadi fundamentalism ferments.

Bernie - this is a radical religious based problem. Period. If you want to throw a progressive spin on it, you're not even doing that right! Try "the problem is religion" or the problem is that "these people cannot get proper education because they are so poor so we need to send them money take in more refugees." (By the way the latter one is racist because you're claiming they are not capable of growing themselves out of poverty).  François Hollande, president of France, is a socialist. He's saying France is going to wage a pitiless war. He may not have always gotten it, but he certainly does now. So you can be a socialist without being a head-in-the-sand fool on terrorism*.

Some on the left have argued that Sanders is actually helping Republicans (because he's supposedly too forward thinking). And there is some thought that he's not really in it to win it but rather to get his issues and views into the national zeitgeist for the future. Sanders saying things like global warming causes terrorism, certainly lends credence to the idea that he doesn't want to win.

*NOTE: For the record, I do not condone socialism.

Hillary hypocrisy

Hillary Clinton unveiled a platform to reduce America's carbon footprint.  A couple of hours later, this:

Just hours after Hillary Clinton unveiled her presidential campaign's push to solve global warming through an aggressive carbon-cutting plan, she sauntered up the steps of a 19-seat private jet in Des Moines, Iowa. The aircraft, a Dassault model Falcon 900B, burns 347 gallons of fuel per hour. And like all Dassault business jets, Hillary's ride was made in France.

Smoking gun indeed - and the smoke smells like jet exhaust.

A few quick hits on current events

700 companies have halted trading on the two big Chinese stock exchanges.  They may be in the middle of a bubble bursting. I would not be surprised if the Chinese economy turned out to be 70% paper tiger.

Meanwhile liberals have started a war with parts of the media over racial and gender quotas.  Jake Tapper, put up a good defense. People looking for skin color or gender instead of looking at the content of the interviews - the questions and responses of candidates - are just not qualified to be voting.  Childish views of the news don't merit the adult right to vote.  Their votes count as much as yours - and you are clearly paying attention to actual issues and candidate positions.  So that's fair.

Yes, the Obama administration planned to persecute their political enemies. Surely you are not surprised by that?

CNN is still softballing Hillary Clinton. Surely you are not surprised by that either?

And Jimmy Carter has decided to speak for none other than Jesus. He must know what Jesus would say, because he's been president, right? It's like only one step above his pay grade. Maybe he should let president Obama know what the pay grade entails.

I'm still saying let Greece fail.

Water is leaving us behind

I was watching National Geographic channel yesterday.  I don't know why - ultimately every show on that channel seems to end up talking about man-made global warming.  There was a show on talking about the droughts of 2012-2013 being worse than the dust bowl of the 1930's.  Imagine that. It must have been all over the news as a national existential crisis right?  Did I miss that?

I'm no climate scientist, but isn't the earth a relatively closed system? If water evaporates it doesn't leave earth's gravitational pull. It doesn't magically teleport to Mars. It becomes water vapor. Ultimately, only so much of the planet's ice can become water and so much of the water can become vapor before the atmosphere is so humid that it has to rain. So-called man-made global warming is not costing us water.  Water does not leave the system.

Desert regions can change. Ice levels can rise and drop.  This is all normal change.  The opposite of climate change would be climate stagnation. I imagine that and picture fetid swamps and permanent deserts. No wind, no rain, no seasons.  That would be a natural disaster.

Frost quakes?

Frost quakes sound like a breakfast cereal to me. But they aren't.

In fact they're something akin to an earthquake, and they're real. While a frost quake is not an actual earthquake, it's a similar, far more localized effect accompanied by a loud boom that results from water in the ground freezing rapidly due to a sudden cold snap. It can cause the frozen ground to crack suddenly and create a boom along with some tremors.

Of course it's already been linked by some to global warming. The notion that global cooling is explained by global warming is ridiculous. The notion that every little climate event is a result of global warming is ridiculous. The notion that all climate change is man-made is ridiculous and full of smug self-importance. People believing that meteorologists who cannot get the weather predictions right for next week have solved the model for predicting future climate shifts 10 to 100 years from now is so ridiculous that it is laughable.

Why rant about it now? Because NASA and the NOAA are busy trying to convince us that 2014 was the warmest year on record. If anyone is still buying the veracity of this type of hysteria as science, have I got a bridge for you.

Polar Ice Caps at Record High Levels

2015.  I'm hopeful that the climate change debate gets laid to rest this year.  Hopeful, but not optimistic.  Despite the evidence, low information celebrities and willfully blind media outlets will continue to decry the fact that the polar ice caps are melting despite the fact that they are not. |In fact, sea ice is at record levels.

Maybe eventually the facts will catch up to the hyperbole from the Al Gore crowd.  We can always hope.
