Your Warnings Mean NOTHING!

Vladimir Putin doesn't give a damn about John Kerry's warning that Russian planes flying over Turkey risk being shot down.  He really doesn't Obama blinked on Iran in 2010 and has been blinking like a mole exposed to a 10 million volt spotlight ever since.

Putin meanwhile, does not care what American leaders say. He's going to do what he wants. Actions might change his mind, but that's been noticeably lacking from this administration.

The first thing to understand about Vladimir Putin is that he’s not content just to win. He has to destroy his opponents, foreign or domestic.

His deeds may be despicable and his manners far too crude for the Upper West Side, but the guy is a force of nature, a man who — by sheer strength of will — has used a broken country and its rusting military to change the world. Meanwhile, our astonished president sulks like a high school girl stood up by her boyfriend (“But Vladimir . . . you promised!”)...

Expect a lot more aggression and violence from Putin between now and Inauguration Day 2017. Obama’s delusional worldview — that of a narrow-shouldered, bleeding-heart undergraduate at a second-rate university — is a gift to Putin that keeps on giving. (In almost seven years in office, Obama still hasn’t grasped that words don’t stop bullets.)

Putin has his own path, and he won't flinch in following it. Not with mamby pamby Chamberlainian leadership in America. Not with China threatening more and more to replace Russia as the Asian superpower. Kerry, your warnings really mean nothing.

Russia's connect the dots

Connect the dots on events in Russia.  I'm not talking about the Ukraine, but clearly all of this is related to the crisis in the Crimea.  We know that Putin is a totalitarian.  He wants Ukrainian territory.  He wants as much as he can get away with taking without consequences.  But I'm talking about connecting the dots with respect to something else entirely.  What I'm talking about are the covert actions that are going on while the Ukrainian crisis plays out. 

Math Wizards: Kerry & Boxer Do Cap & Trade

According to the Energy Information Administration, the U.S. greenhouse gas emissions in 2005 were as follows:

• 6,008.6 million metric tons of CO2
• 26.6 million metric tons of methane
• 1.2 million metric tons of nitrous oxide

And according to the Senate bill just released today (Senators Kerry's and Boxer's Cap and Trade bill) on page 11, lines 9 through 21 mandates the following;

• 97% of those amounts by 2012
• 80% of those amounts by 2020
• 58% of those amounts by 2030
• 17% of those amounts by 2050

Sounds scary already. Oh, but it gets better!  The U.S. population, according to the census bureau figures and projections, goes something like this;

• 2005 - 295,560,549
• 2012 - 335,805,000
• 2020 - 363,584,000
• 2030 - 341,946,000
• 2050 - 419,854,000

Here's the quick math on this (scroll across for more years):

An 88% reduction per person in 41 years. A 30% reduction per person in 11 years. Without looking any further I have to ask - is it possible to cut it by the amounts in the box above? It doesn't seem like it. The bill the math wizards Kerry and Boxer have proposed seems to have set itself up for failure.

Which of course is an enabling factor for them to want to tax more because the U.S. isn't reaching it's targets. The vicious cycle is destined to continue. I so don't want to take the eye off the ball on health care, but this is just stupidity waiting to become law. Where did they derive these numbers from? Did they factor in population growth? Apparently not.
