Global Warming Obama Irony

I'm sure all eyes today will be on the fact that unemployment fell below 9% for the first time in seemingly forever.  While 8.9% is nothing to crow about, I'm sure the Democrats will.  In any case it will likely overshadow a story that speaks to the general irony of the Obama Presidency.  That irony being that the President's stated intentions do not match his actions, and the outcome of his actions are often diametrically opposed to his 'intentions'.

Let me offer an example.  The President's intention was to be less arrogant toward the Muslim world - more conciliatory - in the hope that they would in turn see a kinder, gentler America and be more conciliatory in return. Not happening.  Look at the reactions of everyone from Iran to Libya to even Venezuela to the President: Step down? Um, no thanks. Be nice to our protesters?  Mind your own business. Getting concerned about the Middle East? The U.S. is war mongering again.

The same is true for global warming.  Remember the President promised that his presidency marked the moment the oceans stopped rising?  Remember all his pushes for green energy and also for investing in new technology? Remember also that he gutted NATO?  This is such a logical outcome of those conflicting directions simply because those invested in global warming need NATO's help to help make their erroneous case seem more valid;
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A rocket carrying an Earth-observation satellite plummeted into the Pacific Ocean after a failed launch attempt Friday, the second-straight blow to NASA's weakened environmental monitoring program.

The Taurus XL rocket carrying NASA's Glory satellite lifted off early Friday morning from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, but fell to the sea several minutes later. The same thing happened to another climate-monitoring satellite two years ago with the same type of rocket.

"We failed to make orbit," NASA launch director Omar Baez said at a press conference Friday. "Indications are that the satellite and rocket ... is in the southern Pacific Ocean somewhere."

Officials explained that a protective shell atop the rocket didn't come off the satellite as it should have about three minutes after launch. That left the Glory spacecraft without the velocity to reach orbit.
I love it when a foolish lack of foresight falls apart. And that's the anti -Hannibal-Smith sentiment for the day.
