Anyone can make a claim. Any claim. And that word can spread as gospel, even when the claim is false. Remember the Seinfeld episode where everybody was eating the non-fat yogurt that really wasn't no fat? Global warming alarmists talk about the melting ice and the endangering of polar bears. Accuracy doesn't seem to matter in the Chicken Little world.
