Um, why is this happening?

This seems more than just a little inappropriate and highly suspicious:

Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, has asked federal prosecutors to help review the government documents of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, according to a letter obtained by The New York Times on Wednesday.

Mr. Rosenstein’s request was an unusual insertion of politics into federal law enforcement. While the Justice Department has helped work on previous Supreme Court nominations, department lawyers in Washington typically carry out that task, not prosecutors who pursue criminal investigations nationwide.

But in an email sent this week to the nation’s 93 United States attorneys, Mr. Rosenstein asked each office to provide up to three federal prosecutors “who can make this important project a priority for the next several weeks.” Names were to be submitted to Mr. Rosenstein’s office by the end of Wednesday.

Even the New York Times seems to be willing to point out that this is troubling.

Former law enforcement officials described Mr. Rosenstein’s directive as a troubling precedent.

“It’s flat-out wrong to have career federal prosecutors engaged in a political process like the vetting of a Supreme Court nominee,” said Christopher Hunter, a former F.B.I. agent and federal prosecutor who is running for Congress. “It takes them away from the mission they’re supposed to be fulfilling, which is effective criminal justice enforcement.”

Exactly. And why is Rosenstein doing this? No one outside of the Justice Department has a clue.  Rosenstein is out of control. And where is A.G. Jeff Sessions? Does that guy even do any work?

Suddenly Lindsey Graham has guts?

Useless Republican Lindsey Graham threatened 'holy hell' if president Trump fires Jeff Sessions.  What a time to grow a pair - standing athwart the president on this issue.  Why not have some guts on Obamacare or tax reform or the border wall?  No.  Just stand up to president Trump.  That's just great.  Graham represents everything wrong with senate Republicans in 2017.  There's no marriage to voters, only to a former senate colleague.  He's personifying the old boys club mentality that is what voters are sick of seeing.  Not just Trump voters, but voters in general.  It's seriously sickening.

Ironically this RINO represents the solidly conservative state of South Carolina.  He needs to be primaried ASAP, if ever there was a chance to make the senate more conservative.

Mueller is fishing for Trump dirt

Special investigator is expanding the probe of the president into his business transactions - as far back as he feels like.  Now is the time for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to un-recuse himself and cancel the probe.  This is nothing more than free opposition research of the president for the 2020 presidential election at this point.

Democrats will try to justify it as trying to determine if there were motives for collusion.  Donald Trump was an international businessman. He's had dealings with Russians as well as multiple other nations.  This is not just a witch hunt, it's tinfoil hat conspiracy theory fodder and people will see what they want.

President Trump said yesterday that had he known Sessions was going to recuse himself he would not have appointed him as attorney general. That may be a signal to Sessions to consider a reversal of the recusal.
