This is Part 2 of a Top 20 list. Part 1 is here.
There has been a spate of Democrat scandals of late, but it should come as no surprise to anyone paying attention. With a President who had a series of dubious associations leading up to the election, and a good number of brewing scandals due to erupt, including things like global warming falsification and lead-ins like Eliot Spitzer's hypocrisy, it would be surprising if there WEREN'T a bunch of scandals under the 'squeaky clean, open and honest' Obama-Pelsoi-Reid era.
10) California Democrat Jane Harman is alleged to have offered - on tape, mind you - to obtain reduced charges for two pro-Israel lobbyists suspected of espionage, in exchange for help in lobbying Nancy Pelosi for a key chairmanship for Harman. Felonious? Apparently.
9) Ethics investigations for Democrat representatives Laura Richardson and Maxine Waters, both of California, for various violations related to banking and foreclosures. They aren't really high profile scandals but they are important given the country's current focus on the banking and the home foreclosures as they relate to the recession. At a minimum, these allegations need to be more forefront in the national media. Of course they won't be.
9) Democrat Steve Rattner appointed as President Obama's Car Czar, is one of those being investigated for kickbacks involving New York state’s pension fund. Maybe not such a good choice. Another scandal that didn't make huge headlines like it would if say, ANY REPUBLICAN were President. But, and probably because, it does dovetail with Obama's lack of scrutiny when appointing people to his team. Which brings us to...
8) Van Jones. Glen Beck summed this one up pretty well. There's a 9/11 Truther in the White House. Democrat appointee? Good call, Mr. President, good call.
7) Gary Becker. The list seems populated with people not so much "who's who" but nore of "Who's that?" Gary Becker a Democrat Mayor in Wisconsin was arrested on child pornography charges. Okay, you might say, it's an isolated incident. Well, it's sort of a big deal (or should be), and it's not exactly isolated. There's also the issue with Kevin Jennings - an Obama nominee. And then there's David Ogden.
6) Charlie Rangel, tax cheat. This guy chaired the House Ways and Means Committee, responsible for writing tax rules for America. And he cheats on his taxes. Isn't that a little like a President, Commander in Chief of the Armed forces, having been a draft dodger? I'm just asking. This also ties into a common thread with #4.
5) Gerald Walpin was pressured to resign for investigating a friend of Democrat President Obama's. When that didn't work, they tried to portray him as old and confused. The White House has no direct authority to try to force a resignation of an Inspector General. Even Congress was angered over the move. Related modus operendi: Shoot first, ask questions later?
4) Bad nominees and appointments by Democrat President Obama: Tax cheats Geithner, Sebelius, Kirk and Solis are an affront to decency. But let's not forget the aborted nominations of Richardson, Daschle and Killefer related to Political Action Committee kickbacks for the former and unpaid taxes for the latter two. This sputtering start to a Presidency should have been a tip off to the public from day one. Again, a Republican President would not have recovered at all and would have been a lame duck after his first week, as a result of a concerted media demolition campaign.
3) ACORN. Advice on how to scam the system to run a prostitution ring? Bad. From an organization connected to the Democrat President. Really bad.
2) Rod Blagojevich. The former Democrat Governor tried to sell President Obama's vacated Senate seat because that's the Chicago Way. Technically it's pre-Obama Presidency but post election. But it ties in to President Obama directly because it was his seat, and supposedly there was communication with the White House. And subsequently the Democrat controlled Senate seated the in-your-face appointee Burris that Blago foisted on them. Scandalous all around.
AND
1) Democrat Nancy Pelosi's statement about 'draining the swamp' of scandal and being super-clean forevermore - well that's the worst scandal of all.
