So Scott Brown won the Massachusetts Senate race 52% to 47%. By 100,000 votes.

Chris Matthews' leg tingle is now related to an oncoming stroke.

The Democrats are pointing so many fingers it looks like a Hands Across America moment.

But the Democrats are going to stall seating Brown as much as a snobby French waiter would an American customer.

It's been a historical night. A deep blue state has turned purple faster than a bruise the on President Obama's ego.

The loss for the Democrats was more than just one seat - I was a financial loss too. The SEIU wasted more money supporting Coakley than Eliot Spitzer spent on hookers.

And now we get to see if 44 is greater than 41. This time I think it won't be.

Okay enough of that. Congratulations Senator Brown. Now go get 'em.

Vote! (For Brown)

If you happen to be a resident of Massachusetts and also one of my many readers (not really), then please go vote for Scott Brown for Senate today. I know the intersection of those two criteria might mean I'm probably talking to one or two guys but every vote counts.

Don't give in to inclement weather - every vote matters. Don't believe the polls - this election is not a lock for either candidate. Every vote matters. I've heard Brown by 4 and by 6. It's going to be less than 2 and possibly less than 1. The Democrats are not energized but they just might turn out anyway given the poll momentum. Special elections are notoriously tough to predict anyway.

What can Brown do for you? He can serve to halt more government profligate spending. He'll stop Democrats from answering to no one. He has proven to be a tireless worker, and his campaign has disproved the myth about a purge of moderate conservatives within the GOP. Conservatives are still a big tent party with conservatives of all stripes from across the country pitching in to help Brown in any way they legally can.

So please do your part. Massachusetts can do the country 'a solid' today. Please go vote for Scott Brown for U.S. Senate.

President Obama’s throws in for Coakley

The Boston Herald hits the nail on the head on President Obama's involvement in the Massachusetts special election. It's more class-baiting and it's devoid of solutions. The good news is that Massachusetts voters seem to be listening to what's really being said or not said.



President Obama’s ‘rescue’

Blame Bush, blame the Republicans, combined with a missing recipe to solve the problems is not something worth voting for. Actions speak louder than words Democrats. It looks like Massachusetts of is borrowing the show-me-state motto. And Democrats are either demogogues or the same sort who stand by and watch a crime take place and do nothing about it.

Climate Change versus Climate of Change

The New Republic has an editorial today about the Democrats being doomed, and yet there's no better time to tackle Cap and Trade (climate change). Really? With health care still not law, and potentially being struck dead (pardon the pun), The New Republic editorialists seem hell bent on putting the pedal to the metal on, well, everything.

To do so would be either turning a deaf ear to the country, or else just having a tin ear. Do the Democrats realize how wildly unpopular their over-reach leftward has become? Or do they just not care, as idealogues bent on passing their Utopian vision.

Townhalls and Tea Parties aside, that represents depths of opinion, not breadth, look at generic congressional ballots that have swung heavily back towards Republicans - from the GOP down 6 points one year ago, to being up 9 points. That's a 15 point swing. Set that aside too - President Obama's approval ratings have plummeted over his first year. That's true in every major polling instance. Consider the GOP wins in NJ, Virginia and near Conservative Party upset in the NY23 congressional district. Look at what's going on in Massachusetts, bordering election of a Republican Senator. So it's not just depth of opinion against the Democrats - it's breadth as well.

The best thing the left can do for the right is to continue to push harder and harder. It will alienate more and more in the middle, and it conveys a real sense of panic too. Pushing a climate change agenda, as bad as it would be for the country, likely would really help push voters further away from Democrats.

The far left, and many Democrats including President Obama and Bill Clinton seem to believe that the country is on their side and wants them to press on with their agenda. The President wouldn't have gone to stump for Coakley otherwise, and Bill Clinton has said as much.

Meanwhile climate change legislation has gone on the back burner. Obama's message of change has been shown to be simply a progressive agenda cloaked (now not so much)in clever rhetoric. The climate has changed - the mood of the country has soured on the progressive cabal, and rightfully so. It's about time.
