Guilty Hillary; legal definition ignored
Bill Whittle looks at the legal statutes. According to FBI Director Comey's answers, by the book, Hillary is guilty of imprisonable offenses. So why is she going to go free? Bill Whittle answers that too and the answer is not the Justice Department.

Mea Culpa on Cosby
Late in 2014 and early this year I commented on the allegations leveled against Bill Cosby. I argued that he should be treated as innocent until proven guilty. As it turns out, Bill Cosby has admitted his guilt. Mea culpa, I was defending a guilty man.
Or was I? I was only arguing that the presumption of innocence until proven guilty is the modus of the legal system in the West. Jumping to the conclusion that he was guilty of these terrible things before his day in court was wrong. I made no assumption of his guilt or innocence. I stand by my initial suggestions.
Unfortunately for Bill Cosby not many people are going to continue to stand by him now that he's admitted that he got sedative drugs for women so that he could then have sex with them. That is shameful and from the sound of his admission, felonious.

Guilty until proven innocent
Why is it that those on the left who believe that the police and the military are not held accountable (e.g. Ferguson, Treyvon Martin) constantly act is if they believe every other branch of the government acts with pristine purity in every aspect of their jobs? If that were not the case they would not constantly clamor for more government involvement (both in terms of money and regulation) in every aspect of government?
More money for education. More money for climate change research. More regulation for health care. The list of bigger government requirements goes on and on.
The right has in the past been somewhat guilty of this as well, but in reverse. The military and police can do no wrong, but every other part of government is flawed and requires downsizing as a cure. But the right has made strides in this area - the military is still important, but it is equally important that they be efficient and not waste taxpayers' money. The police are important but they cannot be intrusive of personal liberty.
The right has evolved, the left has not. In fact they've regressed. When it comes to the police in particular, there's all too often a presumption of guilt until proven innocence, and even then, they often still presume guilt.
There's no simple solution to this as it involves perception and world-view type stuff. But it is something that needs to be addressed.

Fort Hood Terror Gunman Guilty of Murder (aka workplace violence)
Army Maj. Nidal Hasan has been found guilty of murder in the Fort Hood shoot deaths of 13.
CNN:
A military jury on Friday convicted Army Maj. Nidal Hasan of 13 counts of premeditated murder in a November 5, 2009, shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, making it possible for the death penalty to be considered as a punishment. The jurors deliberated fewer than seven hours over two days to hand down a verdict against Hasan, who admitted to targeting soldiers he was set to deploy with to Afghanistan to protect the Taliban and its leaders. The shooting rampage occurred at a deployment processing center.
He admitted doing so to protect the Taliban. It begs the question; does the Obama administration still consider this an incidence of workplace violence?

Gosnell guilty
![]() |
Convicted. |
Dr. Kermit Gosnell has been found guilty of 3 counts of first degree murder for his actions in his late term abortions (seemingly post-term abortions) at his abortion clinic.
I haven't commented on this before because I haven't followed it closely, but it seems the correct verdict was reached in this case.
Sentencing will follow. As will more commentary.
