Canada's economy ripe for collapse

This is a fairly accurate prediction about the future of Canada's economy.  There are a few minor things to which I would take exception, most notably the conservative party does have plans to address the housing issue as well as the economy and it was glossed over as nobody has plans to deal with this.  Otherwise, this is an accurate assessment of the current situation and likely outcome.

Has the Netherlands blown it?

An overnight coalition collapse and the Netherlands is facing an election, after it's longest serving prime minister could not come to a four party coalition agreement on a tougher immigration policy.

Tim Pool talks God and comedienne collapse

It feels like this might be Tim Pool blog day. Tim zeroes in on the blasphemy angle of the story about comedienne Heather McDonald collapsing after her bit on vaccinations and the religious implications.  He refers back to the George Floyd mural being struck by lightning on a sunny day.

Is Western civilization collapsing? Doomed?

It's hard not to wonder whether Western Civilization has run its course and is on the brink of collapse. As Paul Joseph Watson paraphrases, we've become morally, aesthetically and spiritually bankrupt.  Not to mention literally.

Civilizations rise on hard work, motivation, and ideals and fall on lethargy, self-indulgence and moral decay.  Perhaps rising to the top is easier than staying there.  Then again, China and Japan have endured for centuries going through both ascension and periods of decline.  Maybe final decline is not unavoidable as it was for civilizations and empires like Rome, the Mongols, the ancient Greeks or the British empire or even the Soviet Union.

Maybe it's the case that empires decline while civilizations can and often do, endure.  Ideals held by the founders of the United States are bound to endure, perhaps at some point as mere embers rather than flames, but they will endure.  And as they say, embers can spark great fires.  We need only look to the fall of the Soviet Union to realize that bad ideas like communism and socialism do indeed continue when empires collapse.  The same will be true for the tenets embodied in the American Constitution.

All that sad, this is indeed scary:

There are indeed a lot of signs of being on the brink of the end.  But it is a good sign that Trump won in 2016, and that enough people realize that a bloated beaurocracy destroys a country to have made that happen.

The coming collapse of China. Still happening?

Author Gordon Chang predicted China's collapse back in 2001.  In 2012 he held firm in his beliefs, making a number of factual observations, although he was off on his timing.

Last year, he said that Trump's strategy on China is working:

Recently Chang sat down with Mark Levin to discuss China and North Korea. The insights are itneresting.

Could crude oil price collapse spell the end of jihad?

It's an interesting thought experiment but the short answer is no.  I for one will not lament lower prices at the gas pump, it's a significant relief that many consumers need - myself included.  Lower oil prices has such a trickle down effect on the price of everything, it's a big win for a beleaguered middle class.  But if I'm in Iraq or Syria and oil prices fall it spells disaster for the economy.  That means more economic hardship and therefore more of an agitated population.  That in turn provides a fertile landscape for ISIS to sew it's seething brand of evil hate.

Obama spin on Benghazi collapses

President Obama knew that Benghazi was a terror attack.  He wants to claim he said so right away.  But he let an unsustainable story continue to float through the news cycles in hopes that they could spin the attacks as not terror, and by doing so he is exposing himself as having played politics with the events all along.

A Soros excuse for a Billionaire!

Remember the Public Enemy rap song Don't Believe The Hype from 1989? Don't worry if you don't the point is the title. Barrack Obama and his minions have been pushing this idea that the economy is half a breath away from complete, ruinous doom. Preposterous. What's getting closer to complete and ruinous doom is the capitalist free market system that created and built American prosperity.

With that backdrop in mind along comes the following hyperbole from the Moveon.org backing, Hungarian-born whack-job, George Soros. Keep in mind the man has written three books about the impending collapse of global capitalism.

-The Alchemy of Finance (1987)
-The Crisis of Global Capitalism (1998)
-The New Paradigm for Financial Markets (2008)

Do it long enough and maybe you'll get it right George. He's been predicting a collapse since Reagan. No matter that his socialist leaning philosophies have helped encourage that same disaster by trying to hamstring the free market via social engineering interferences. I sometimes get the feeling that Soros could be the ultimate Soviet sleeper cell. How any billionaire can fund, and back groups like Moveon.org is beyond any logic I can grasp.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Renowned investor George Soros said on Friday the world financial system has effectively disintegrated, adding that there is yet no prospect of near-term resolution to the crisis.

Soros said the turbulence is actually more severe than during the Great Depression, comparing the current situation to the demise of the Soviet Union.

He said the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers in September marked a turning point in the functioning of the market system.

"We witnessed the collapse of the financial system," Soros said at a Columbia University dinner. "It was placed on life support, and it's still on life support. There's
no sign that we are anywhere near a bottom."

His comments echoed those made earlier at the same conference by Paul Volcker, a former Federal Reserve chairman who is now a top adviser to President Barack Obama.Volcker said industrial production around the world was declining even more rapidly than in the United States, which is itself under severe strain.

"I don't remember any time, maybe even in the Great Depression, when things went down quite so fast, quite so uniformly around the world," Volcker said.

And here's the Soros-Volker tie-in: They are on the same page, they are working on the same agenda. These men are not strangers. Paul Volcker wrote the foreword of Soros' book The Alchemy of Finance (in the 2003 edition):

George Soros has made his mark as an enormously successful speculator, wise enough to largely withdraw when still way ahead of the game. The bulk of his enormous winnings is now devoted to encouraging transitional and emerging nations to become 'open societies,' open not only in the sense of freedom of commerce but—more important—tolerant of new ideas and different modes of thinking and behavior.

I don't care if this guy is a trillionaire - he simply can't be trusted to suggest what really is in the best interests of America. He built himself up in the capitalist system he seems intent on blowing up. Maybe I'm being too cynical and he really is a capitalist at heart - maybe he's just trying to sell more of those doomsday books he keeps writing. In any case, according to the Forbes list he's ranked 101st richest man in the world, and if being rich equals being smart (which it doesn't), there are at least 100 people out there smarter than Soros. And if they're all socialists too, then this is Bizarro World.
