House Republican Leader John Boehner has an excellent post on gopleader.gov, about the latest Rick Santelli outburst. Rick Santelli, you might remember last year was the inspiration, or at least the spark for the Tea Party movement. On CNBC, Santelli unloaded Democrat Rep. Paul Kanjorski. It was a simple, irrefutable argument.

Stagflation?
Stagflation? Not exactly, but as Rick Santelli, he of the modern Tea Party creation points out, inflation is up and unemployment numbers this week aren't very rosy. Staglation could still be coming.
Rick Santelli breaks it down, no job creation and inflation 'unexpectedly' making an appearance.

Wizbang's Take on Misleading Unemployment Numbers
I'm not the only one who believes there's subterfuge in the latest unemployment data. Alan Orfi at Wizbang makes the point that the numbers are suspect, and Obama's use of them to tout his economic success, will come back to bite him.
Orfi points out, quoting Rick Santelli that by using U3 instead of U6, and by changing the denominator arbitrarily true unemployment is being masked. Orfi goes on to point out that the President is mistaken if he thinks people won't instinctively feel and understand the true situation.
Let's hope he's right. It would be a real disappointment if people fell for the hopey-changey advertisements of Democrats again. The only change they have left to try now, is to go back to conservative principles that work. But since the President isn't "going to walk away" from anything, that sort of change ain't happening.

Apologists pounce.
Apologists for Obama go after Santelli for his earlier tirade. Santelli does an admirable job staying calm and continuing to hammer home his point.

One can't fault MSNBC for trying to capitalize on the feedback by putting Santelli back on the air, especially in a potentially volatile situation with two apologists who think he's wrong. It's actually a good business decision to play off the buzz over Santelli's outburst on CNBC - something I though had long since lost the ability to do with it's news divisions.
Here's the BUT: MSNBC, clearly in the tank for Obama, allowed Santelli to make his point again. The fallout - MSNBC has put itself in a position where sound business decisions contravene it's political bent. Don't cry any tears for MSNBC. Their ratings are in the tank, because they are in the tank, and it looks good on them.
Best Rant of 2009 So far.
Rick Santelli, goes on a rant on CNBC. This needs to be seen. Great work Rick.
Amen to that.
