In fact, it has to be at least twenty suckers per minute based on how many people fall for stupid stuff. In the past these people were sold snake oil, nowadays, it's things like global warming and government conspiracies that they're being sold. The latest one I've just become aware exists is the chemtrails conspiracy. Forget the reasons for the different snake oils we receive on a constant basis - it's either for money or for misdirection - the real fight is to get people educated to the point where they are questioned what they are told.
Critical thinking is a crucial skill in today's day and age and it ain't bein' taught in skool! That's because schools have become a factory for imbuing people with propaganda that fits the agenda. Wow, I sound like a conspiracy nut myself. I'm not, really. Liberal indoctrination of our children does exist but that's a discussion for another day. My point is this, people get information from the media and even from supposedly credible sources, but they never seem to question how credible the information really is. The latest exhibit is the chemtrails conspiracy.
What the heck are chemtrails? I'll let Wiki explain;
The chemtrail conspiracy theory holds that some trails left by aircraft are actually chemical or biological agents deliberately sprayed at high altitudes for a purpose undisclosed to the general public in clandestine programs directed by government officials.
As a result, official agencies have received thousands of complaints from people who have demanded an explanation. The existence of chemtrails has been repeatedly denied by government agencies and scientists around the world, who say the trails are normal contrails.
The United States Air Force maintains that the theory is a hoax which "has been investigated and refuted by many established and accredited universities, scientific organizations, and major media publications". The British Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has stated that chemtrails "are not scientifically recognised phenomena". The Canadian Leader of the Government in the House of Commons has stated that "The term 'chemtrails' is a popularised expression, and there is no scientific evidence to support their existence."
The term chemtrail is derived from "chemical trail" in the similar fashion that contrail is an abbreviation for condensation trail. It does not refer to common forms of aerial spraying such as crop dusting, cloud seeding, skywriting, or aerial firefighting. The term specifically refers to aerial trails allegedly caused by the systematic high-altitude release of chemical substances not found in ordinary contrails, resulting in the appearance of uncharacteristic sky tracks. Supporters of this theory speculate that the purpose of the chemical release may be for solar radiation management, population control, weather control, or biological warfare/chemical warfare and claim that these trails are causing respiratory illnesses and other health problems.
Wacky enough to be sure. Who falls for this AREA-51-plus stuff? Apparently lots of people. This video has over 800,000 hits and another has over 900,000.
And you wonder how people are persuaded to vote Democrat? That's child's play compared to getting people to swallow global warming hysteria or now chemtrail hysteria. This is why now is no time to give up the fight for the future of the United States. People need to be armed to question snake oil when they think they see it. They need to recognize when it's being shown to them as fact.
